  1. Park gets a huge amount of plaudits for his workrate. I'd say Ash put in twice as many tackles in 70 minutes tonight as Park has ever managed. Yes his crossing has not been up to his excellent standards but he worked his bloody socks off today and was a key part in stifling Man City's advances
  2. I really enjoyed the game today. It was a whole-hearted display. The workrate, especially from Young and Gabby, was tremendous. We rarely gave city a chance to settle on the ball, characterised by how few times we heard the inevitable 'boo' during the game. We had 2 great chances to double our lead, Milner's shot and Dunne's free header. We missed both and it cost us. Their goal came from a sluggish advance from a cleared ball. We didn't close them down fast enough and were puished by a well taken goal. Overall it's hard to be disappointed when the players show such outstanding level of commitment.
  3. Magic Merson. At times, he was sublime.
  4. This article made me smile: source There's a circus in the town.........
  5. Economic Left/Right: -7.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.46 With all the similar reults, I wonder if it shows that the survey is flawed or if it shows that people who use football messageboards generally fit a libertarian profile?
  6. For 70 minuted I thought we were alright. We had the ball in their box 4 or 5 times but could not pick out the killer pass. (often picking the wrong option in trying a cross instead of a drilled pass along the ground) I can understand the logic behind bringing on Heskey. Blackburn weren't really threatening us in open play and we maybe needed an extra head in there against the long throws. Unfortunately, we lost our shape (ie no width) and Blackburn were able to easily nullify our slow, stodgy passing in the final third. Everytime they booted it up the pitch we had to clear the ball, leading to more throw-ins and the (it felt like) inevitable goal. Not the worst day by any means. I though Delph did very well. He can pick out passes and made lots of tackles around the pitch. Out of the two centre midfielders, he was the better performer
  7. I asked that on the match thread. To be fair to atwell - none of the commentators picked up on it either - despite replaying it twice. Yep you're both right : Unfortunately it's no longer called "Ungentlemanly Conduct" but "Unsporting Behaviour".
  8. Good win. They had a 15 minute spell 2nd half and had a few decent efforts but it was comfortable apart from that. Dunne & Collins were very good again.
  9. Anyone else get this blokes voice from Enter the Dragon whenever the commentator shouts "O'Hara" ?
  10. I honestly thought that was a photoshop job when I saw that (and a funny one at that) What graceless pieces of shite they are
  11. Paul purely because of Wings. They're only the band the Beatles could've been
  12. No "The Best of the Beatles" ?????? Surely that has to be on the list
  13. Some Bluenose filmed the goal and still posted it on Youtube! Their feeling of despair, having to look at the righteous celebrating below them, is fanastic here
  14. I haven't posted in this thread for a while................. Blues :
  15. YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Was suprised at O'Neill blooding 3 defenders but boy was I wrong. Dunne was immense. UP THE VILLA
  16. Great interview - thanks for posting Levi
  17. Scott Tenorman Must Die is my favourite. I don't think anyone expected that ending
  18. Young can be the best winger in the country by the end of the season Jimmy Milner is still my favourite Villa player at the moment though.
  19. If that was 4-5-1 we were playing, I'm a Dutchman (and I'm not). No? What was it then? 1st half it was more 4-4-1-1 with Young playing a free role. Gabby ended up on the left as much as Young 2nd half we reverted to a solid 4-5-1
  20. Enjoyed the game today. Sidders motm for me - ran the show in midfield. Clark had a good debut but cannot be fully judged until he faces a sterner test Pantsil is a nutter.
  21. Fecking hell, no one else voted 10? If I really wanted to change anything, I'd try and change it. As it is, I'm pretty content with my lot. Maybe I'm just the most unambitious VTer
