  1. I'm sure Delia sees this as a basically risk free opportunity to become better known in britain and maybe learn English better? I'm not sure how his English is so that last one might be totally wrong.
  2. They've already almost broke even with the wages of cole and lampard coming off the books and the sale of luiz. That's on top of January when they made a big profit. They're not really in a position where they have to sell hazard.
  3. You're more likely to suffer a year of a cruciate ligament than someone who hasn't, particularly in the first two years. However, a recurrence is still unlikely. (I think it's about 10%. Interestingly, tearing the ACL in the opposite knee is more likely than the previously injured knee)
  4. Not sure that playing through it was wise in a World Cup year.
  5. This is a really misleading picture. His front foot didn't make contact with Valencia's shin as that picture shows. It's just perfectly timed to look that way. It was his trailing leg that caught him. Still a justified red, imo. But it wasn't quite as bad as that makes it look This Just because Valencia was quick enough to readjust and stay out of the way doesn't mean it wasn't a really horrible tackle. If he stats in stride with that challenge his leg is broken.
  6. I don't think, with tendinosis, there's anyway he'll be fit if he plays. You can play through tendinosis more than you can a muscle pull, but it's very limiting and he'll make it worse for the long run. He must've been playing with it injured for weeks or months though, makes sense that he was somewhat ineffective in the UCL final.
  7. No wingers on standby... Who gets called up?
  8. More likely to be more specific bets than that, I.e. Make sure the over is reached, make sure you get this # of bookings, commit x number of fouls, etc if it were to happen with those teams.
  9. I don't know if that was wrong. Villa were 10th as recently as March, right? Seems like it was possible.
  10. I'm on my phone so I can't post a disgust/shock horror gif. He may be a good coach, I don't really know. But a lying, drunk driving slanderer isn't what I want at a club.
  11. Calf strain. Also, I think he made a few in the Europa league and made 8 in the league, but that could be wrong
  12. I'm thinking more tough scot who was a great player and competitor and insane, psychopathic Irishman who was an unbelievable player and competitor, both of whom might not be the best tactically... Who's the good cop?
  13. That's close to costa in pounds, but I'm sure he was talking about euros. Not far off fabregas?
  14. Like I said at the time, awful tackle. Id be angry too if someone almost cost me a World Cup place.
  15. he did grab his neck It's not like he was going to strangle him. A lot less violent than the tackle.
  16. Both deserved, though I hate that grabbing a player is a red.
  17. Wow that was an awful tackle
  18. That Real Madrid blue away shirt amazing.
  19. He's played more than twice the minutes Holt played. What's your point anyway? Werent you the one who raised the point that he started most games for Valencia? When he actually didn't? He started most games when he was fit. He had a thigh strain that kept him out for a few weeks.
  20. "we gave up in too many games" This didn't really seem like the issue.
  21. That's not really a horrible idea. Milner is a very solid player and with England's RB situation he might be the best option.
  22. Most games it's not really that negative though, just the big ones against better sides. With the way Chelsea are going, there aren't going to be any better sides soon.
  23. If I'm not mistaken gillinghams manager said he looked like George best after the brilliant goal vs them for notts this year. Edit: Yep. Peter Taylor: "The third goal, Grealish is a very good player but we made him look like George Best."
  24. People were talking about how Meulensteen would be a great appointment, even though he has a horrible record in management. Now the actual appointment is being judged off his record in management. Seems a bit bizarre to me. (For the record, I really don't like keane or the appontment, and I also think Meulensteen would've been a great assistant at villa. But the logic is flawed)
