Did anybody else see this on Bolasies Instagram? Not sure what to think of it really? On 70k a week and he’s posting stuff like this.... not that the salary really matters I guess. He posted something else taking the piss about ‘rolling up their sleeves’ too.

My old man said to me yesterday he thinks he chose to start Adomah so he can protect Taylor. Said it all really. Aston Villa in the Championship starting a winger so that he can support his international fullback against a team just promoted from league 1, instead of playing a winger who can get at them offensively. ?

Still of the opinion that Bolasie and Abraham etc are effectively pointless if they are intended to get us promoted whilst we have this guy in goal. He's just going to cancel them out.

Exactly!!!!! Whole thing is a complete mess. Yesterday was a disgrace, didn't even have it in my to shout for Bruces head because I was so perplexed. It's all well and good Bruce saying he didn't want to 'sign players for the sake of it', or they 'had to be the right ones' or whatever but not having a centre back or left back is going to kill us. In my opinion, it almost makes Bolasie, Abraham, keeping Grealish etc redundant because what the point with the defence and goalkeeper that we have?

Which is where Chester plays. Even left side centre back he's technically out of position. A centre half being comfortable on his correct side is more important that people think.

Expecting a busy few days at #avfc Harold Moukoudi is in the UK and expected at Bodymoor Heath today as Villa look to wrap up a season-long loan deal. Will add cover at centre-back if it gets done. from Gregg Evans on Twitter

We seem to be doing a very good job of actually convincing people to come. Apart from Bryan, but I guess we had convinced him at one point.

Hahaha, this still has to go down as the most random signing ever surely? It didn’t make sense one bit, especially considering MONS domestic bias for signings. Very strange. I remember him coming on for his debut against Reading, we were cruising at 2-0. He came on for the last 3 minutes and then gave the ball away and they scored. Actually after typing this it might of been Sylla ?. On another note, I’m worried at the lack of incoming rumours.

Ralph Hansenhuttl is still available after leaving RB Leipzig in the summer. He has an unbelievable record. Promoted with teams who were poor in 2.Bundesliga too. Great attacking counter attack philosophy. He’d be a dream.

No, because even if it’s loan to buy it’s still technically a loan untill it’s made permanent. We messed up bad loaning a keeper, if we’d just kept Steer we would be able to loan a left back and striker without any headache ?!

I think people are forgetting that we can only have 5 loans in the squad at one time. After Bolasie, that puts us on 4 loan. Which means realistically we can only get one more, unless Moreira is completely taken out the squad and we use Bunn on the bench ??? I just can’t see it though. Think after Bolasie it’s got to be one more logically? Even though we do desperately need a defender. Tough one.

Imagine if Hutton, De Laet, Bree, Elmo and Tuanzebe all get injured!!! We'd be screwed! Ward number 1 priority for me.

Diego Reyes is available on a free after leaving Porto. I know it might be a bit of a ‘football manager-esk’ signing, but he’s 25 and a Mexican international centre back. He’d be unreal in this league. Just makes too much sense to go for a player like that though I guess ?. I wouldn’t imagine his wages would be anywhere near what we were paying Terry either.
