Wow, a lot of work needed here, we lack speed of thought and speed of foot. We are wasteful and clumsy in possession, the goal keeper is struggling with basics, we have no attacking ideas around the box. Urgh, this is going to take time, play offs seem a long way away.

Very enthusiastic about this appointment. It feels a good mix - British Manager playing possession based, pressing style of football. I think the marriage will suit Smith and suit the Club. If the owners are patient I am very confident this will work very well. Promotion is a big ask but shodlnt be seen as the be all and end all - I only want to go up if we are ready, what's the point of being the whipping boys of the league or getting up and having to spend £100m's just to keep your head above water?

In fairness, I think the Lerner regime crushed Lambert. And certainly Remi Garde too. We won’t be getting Henry now that the Monaco position is open. He took training there yesterday. The owners should have had courage in their conviction and appointed him when they arrived, it would have been a master stroke. I fear we will end up with plan D or E whoever that will be.

Talked up on Sunday Supplement this morning, cited his detail and what he brought to Belgium. He will clearly motivate our squad, he is a footballing legend, could be our Pep. Excited for Terry too, big personalities mega experience of the modern game.

Get rid tonight, at least we have a chance of building momentum for promotion next season. Nothing positive today other than Leeds, Middlesborough etc not stretching their lead. Brentford doing a Fulham but far earlier in the season. We are in trouble, we are further adrift than we were last season and the Potatoe has is out of ideas hence the “I am starting from scratch” bullshit excuses.

Best offensive squad in the division and he conjures up this team selection? We are terrible, a goal would paper over the cracks. Bruce and backroom boys clearly have no clue how to play this squad, and do zero coaching. Utter rubbish

If you were born after 1990, you may wonder what all the fuss is about Liverpool. The reason LFC fans are "hated" is they are stuck in the past and think they have some entitlement, and don't shut up about it. But like time, football grinds on and the present is the only relevance. Its a pity Liverpool are on the brink of something. I just hope Watford do a Leicester and gives us some ammunition against LFC fans!

Surely they are looking at alternatives? Purslow is no mug, he must realise how limiting Bruce is for the owners ambitions (he is one after all). If we f*ck this season up Jack will be off too.

Should be enough for a decent game. Needs a real performance today. We have enough there to win. Not many plan b options though, not this weekend anyway

Good transfer window. Yes, strange decisions and indecisiveness around CB and full back, but we needed speed and goals, and we now have that. Perhaps it would be greedy to have everything. We probably have the best offensive team in the division, good strength in depth, if we win today we are two point off the top, remain unbeaten in the league with over 40 games to go. Best state we have been in for years?
