He's very good in his preffered position, Centre Back. Quick, agile, win's his fair share of headers and is a perfect foil for a big centre half, either Collins or Dunn. Another player who is looking more at home in his second season with the club.

Nice to see us putting a team to the sword for once.

For the amount of money he has spent over the last three years I would expect to finish at least 5th/4th this year. Anything less I would deem to be an underachievement.

I know it's the right decision to bring in Heskey for Carew, but it doesn’t inspire me with confidence. Come on Villa; show me what you can do.

Merse and Taylor for me. Taylor covers a lot more ground and weighed in with the odd goal.

Delaney all the way. Very consistent never let us down.

I have faith in him, but an out of form Davies and a woeful Shorey aren't helping anyone at the moment. Davies switched off on numerous occasions which meant we were on the back foot. This meant from my view point, the Cueller was forever trying to cover two positions instead of doing his own job. With an experienced CB, my choice would be Turner; I think he would do well.

I have concerns about Davies and Cueller as central defensive partnership based on the last half of last season. I was hoping we would have a recognised CB in at this point in the season which has not come to fruition yet. Therefore, I think we are currently fragile at the back and will find it hard to keep clean sheets. That said, I think the signing of Delph and the emergence of Albrighton are quite exciting and added to the current squad can see them maintaining and hopefully improving our goals tally. Overall at this point I think we will mainting our position but with another couple of signings think we might be able to challenge the top 4 over the course of the full season rather than just the 2/3rds last time out.
