  1. Good minutes for him to boost his confidence. Took a little bit to get up to the speed of the game but liked what I saw.
  2. Very good with the ball. Lots of work to do and learn when he hasn’t got the ball. A few times second half he seemed to be just jogging back to cover and left himself too much to do when he got there. I’m sure it will come.
  3. Flat performance flat crowd. Second to every ball. Hate Newcastle but they did a job on us. we need more players back to put this starting 11 under pressure.
  4. Second best all over the pitch, very flat just like the crowd. Awful.
  5. Far to passive second half. Starting losing all the second balls, loose passes as they stepped up the press and we didn’t have enough to combat this. Very disappointing. Onwards and upwards.
  6. That’ll do me because I am a Villa dad in Stockport who’s eldest is now 19 and has been a Villa fan all his life. Be nice to have another up here to celebrate with after all the crap he’s had to endure. The tide is changing.
  7. What a fantastic addition to the team. No wonder he was courted by the old top 4.
  8. Very workman like performance. Got the result with minimum effort against a side that came for a point. Special mention to the referee who seemed to think the game was about him not the two teams, atrocious.
  9. I don’t think Unai will stand in the way if a decent offer comes in for him in the summer.
  10. Quality player with such a cool head when under pressure. Team needs to cement top 8 this year and make signings to push next season to keep him. Champions League player any day.
  11. We are so lucky to have him. Best I’ve seen since Jimmy Rimmer.
  12. He’s developing a really good team spirit along with his tactical nous. It’s moving forward in a way I’ve not seen for a long while and I’ve been watching Villa for 47 years.
  13. Tough start but grew into the game and showed glimpses of what’s to come.
  14. The only good thing to come out of the Gerrard era. Fantastic player.
  15. Leon Bailey, Leon Bailey, Leon Bailey MOM. After all the ne sayers on here knocking him he tried his hardest in all those games. Tonight match winner 1 goal and 1 assist. Don’t slag players off when they lose a bit of form. Back them and they’ll come through for you.
  16. IMO he’s doing a job up top with Watkins, and between them they are closing down the opposition well. Think he’s more effective in a wide role and if we get a striker I think that’s where he’ll play most games for us.
  17. According to the idiot Hinchcliffe on Sky Sports it was a fair challenge as the Manure player challenged from behind. Idiot.
  18. Like the way he plays. He’s making good positive progress now and is becoming an integral part of the squad.
  19. Gutted about the slow start and soft goal. After that no complaints.
  20. If he goes he goes with my thanks. He was integral in getting us up and staying up. The level of player we need has gone up so it’s a natural time for him to leave and hopefully enjoy his career. Thank you.
  21. After listening and reading many responses to this appointment and trying to get my head around it I’m still perplexed by this. It makes no sense to me when I look at the potential options we could have gone for. The only rationale thing I can think of is the Puslow link from Liverpool. I can not find any other rational explanation for it. For a club aiming for Europe with the financial backing we have Gerrard is completely unproven and is a big gamble. I’m holding my breath but am very nervous.
  22. Blimey, there’s a lot of jumping to conclusions based on a snippet of information. Shame!
