  1. Its a strange season, and with 23 games to go, so many twists to come. At the moment we are not at full strength, and with a signing in January I would hope that we will come good in the new year where the shake up really happens. Be interesting to see how Manchester City strengthen and how Tottenham do. Its going to be tough, but who said it would be easy? We aren't at full strength granted but we are only missing one player and its worrying how much one player being missing can affect us. Your right though there is a long way to go and a transfer window approaching we need to take advantage of it. I can only see Man City, Spurs and us out of the chasing pack spending any money.
  2. Everton are getting closer and closer to us, I'm getting worried we may need to start looking down rather than up.
  3. Hasn't Keith Harris said there are no interested parties at the moment? Wasn't aware Bill is ill, is that public knowledge?
  4. Eton Rifles - The Rifles version featuring Paul Weller
  5. Blues are on form but can't see them getting a result at Wolves.
  6. Wolves v Blues is this Saturday? With Villa at home? Wow, New Street and the City Centre could be places to avoid after the game.
  7. Jose Baxter looks a lot like Franny Jeffers to me!
  8. Blimey, he is 29 and got a contract until 2012??? That is a bit soft of Moyes.
  9. I've not changed my vote either, it was Labour before and still is. However, despite the thoughts of some I'm not so entrenched in my beliefs that I'm a Labour voter for life no matter what. If I thought the Torries the more suitable party to run the country I would be in favour of it but at this moment in time I think Brown is more capable of managing the economic situation we find ourselves in. This though is largelly because like with so many issues I'm yet to actually hear a clear explaination of what the Torries would actually do, if and when I hear some decent policies or views from them I might consider them. I know one thing the future tax rises to 45% for higher earners aren't that appealing.
  10. Bad result for Everton, great result for Wigan and Villa.
  11. Interesting post Awol on two counts (apologies for not quoting but there have been too many long quote-athons) In regards the BNP, TheDon was spot on the other day but a fair few refuse to listen and your right for that reason those who have said they would vote BNP will keep their heads down. That or it is people having a little fun with the results rather than it representing true attitudes which I rather suspect. On the other issue regarding fiscal policy and the regulation and possible nationalisation of the banking sector I kind of agree with you. There were some stories of Brown taking action against the banks if they continue to refuse to lend in todays press, I'd be interested to know what this action would be.
  12. That is correct, I said that but you are miss quoting me mate. I said that in relation to policy not ability to run the economy there is a difference. I don't deny I think the Conservatives are really struggling to put together a coherent economic policy at the moment or at least one they are willing to share with the voting public. That isn't to say that they won't produce one or are incapble of doing so. Anyway moving on.
  13. It's there trent. Where? At no point in this thread have I said anything even close. You are trying to score a point Richard based on something I haven't said, I don't know if the Torries are capable of running the economy. How can I? I don't know what their policies are let alone if they would work.
  14. I think your right, I don't think they have got a clue it certainly has appeared that way from Cameron's dithering on the issue. I don't see how they can possibly hope to get in without some very solid economic policies. And of course that opinion is in no way shape or form linked to your political outlook at all but is purely from a neutral perspective isn't it. No its very much from my political view point, but then I'm not making an assesment here on one parties suitability to run an economy am I? Just on the actions of an individual which in my view were rather stupid, even Torries must think it daft of him to open himself up to such easy scorn. I think you need to read the bit I have quoted again as it seems that you are. Sorry Richard but your post was in relation to a post I made about one individual, nothing to do with the economy or a parties suitability to run it. With regards to running the economy what I have said is that I would like Cameron to actually state some policies on what he would do in terms of the economy, until he does I will suspect cuts in spending in the public sector. I'm certainly not dismissing their suitability to run the economy as I don't have the first clue what they would actually do, that is the whole point. But if you can point me in the direction of me making a post in which I totally dismiss the Torries of being capable of running the economy (akin to the one by TheTrees I think it was to which I initally replied) feel free to point it out.
  15. And in that sentance so much is said of the divide both in this thread and on this subject by and large. I guess it all really still comes down to the old laissez-faire debate in one form or another.

  17. he is a person who is deemed highly intelligent and someone the labour party are in fear of .. hence the recent campaign against him and the party line against him adopted by a couple of VT regular posters Yet not intelligent enough to stay away from billionnaire yachts owned by Russian's aye. And yes I know Mandy was present but I'm not declaring him a danger to the Torries because of his intelligence.

I don't see how they can possibly hope to get in without some very solid economic policies. Rightly or wrongly in recent weeks Brown has made up quite a bit of the ground he had previously lost to Cameron.
  19. I'd rather he miss West Ham than Everton.
  20. Personally I'm still waiting for any solid and credible policy from the Torries as to how they would deal with the global finacial problems and yes that is global, not just UK so Labour aren't entirely to blame. I will though get the usual, he can't because Labour will nick them excuse. Until I hear some policies from them I'll continue to suspect that they would do the normal standard Tory thing of cut public spending in the Health Service and Education amongst other things.

  22. Is he on 4 bookings? If so I would 'rest' him against Fulham and save him for Goodison, if he gets booked in that game he would miss Bolton at home which would be better than him missing Goodison.
