The set piece part is something i agree with, one of the 3 cb`s on the park doesn`t go forward for corners so we don`t even benefit from that in the attacking sense. -
Wow i didnt thin so many people would prefer SWp at the start. Shows how much Milner has moved on.

General, happy birhtday, sorry its late Just a quick question which is a bit different and you may not be able to asnwer. I was just wondering if at some point Randy would welcome investment from another person, if it was a life long Villa fan who had the same ideas as himself? Maybe even a silent partner kind of situation?

Why didnt he give him a yellow if he bottled it a little? I just cant see how you would justify giving a pen and no card at all.

I still think we lack quality at times in central midfield, maybe more so with the way we play rather than the personnel in there. No good having a top striker if the quality of balls isn't good enough as the second half showed yesterday. We do lack having more play through the middle. A CM and Striker for me. -
I agree wit hthis, he can tackle he just gets a bit carried away sometimes. He won the ball back a few times against Manure. He does however have too much to offer going forward to be stuck at the back.

Probably a bit of both AVFC-pob, i don`t think we will see the best of him again now. He`ll be gone in the summer and we need to find a different type of striker to replace him. Someone with clever movement so we can use Milners vision to create chances on the floor and through the middle. No.

Its been taken very seriously, look at the poll. Our team has improved quickly and we are going on current form. Its not a slant at Laursen but we didn`t have anywhere near the best defence in the league when he was here (I know we have a better GK and full backs now).

I didn't think i would ever have said this but there is a chance that on this seasons form Dunney is actually better than Laursen. I bet they could have played together, what a pair that would have been.

I went for Youngs, the game was gone and the blue scouse were still celebrating.

I went for Blackburn purely because we scored 6 goals at home in a semi. The Tranmere one was probably better all round buy hey, Blackburn was yesterday :winkold:

I wouldn`t be so sure, what about Sunday? It has to be Cuellar and Dunne for me, they did really well together. Young has to play rb, hes by far our best player there. Collins has done pretty well but hasn`t been quite as good since he came back from his injury imo.

Im still not sue why Young doesnt play at rb, at least on Sunday. He so much more comfortable there. Gives us more going forward too.

Yes i think he will be he has a very similar range of attributes. He could even be a touch better at the same age, he has played more games as far as i know.

This too for me, my main frustration is the lack of trying something else. yes some of the players didn`t play wonderfully but we did put them on the back foot. When the goals not coming you do have to try something else to make it come.

What, like he did so many times against Hull yesterday? Granted it was a poor finish, the should've just hit it first time. Thats it, the main difference about us today and Spurs yesterday was that the Hull GK had to make a hat full of top class saves. Green didn`t have to make many at all today. P.S I agree Heskey is better than Carew.

This would be the single most important change we could make. I usually like Gabby and defend him but today he was poor, he needs two touches for decent strikers 1. If we play him he has to be the hold up stiker not the finisher.

Trouble is there a chance top 4 will be even further away next season especially if Man City keep spending the bucks and Liverpool might sort themselves out.
