I agree with you there, althought he would have made our first team slightly better imo. We need a proper destroyer to play alongside Milner, maybe one more creative player and a proper striker.

It sucks I wouldn't say it sucks. But after 5 episodes in, I'm still waiting for it to match Band of Brothers, and it hasn't got anywhere near. It's more of a Drama set in the Second World War, not a War Drama. Agree with this

Probably my favorite Villa player. He can play some fantastic balls and your always confident when he has the ball. I do think he would be better utilised in a three man midfield with a runner and a creative player. such a solid player. honestly think you could count the number of times he's given the ball away this season on two hands. just wish he would demand the ball more and be more adventurous with his passing - he has the ability to do so. In all fairness if most of your passes are back to your defenders, who haven't got an opposition player within 20 yards of them, you won't give the ball away. Petrov didn't play one forward pass tonight, and I can't remember the last time that he did. He links play well and is tenacious in his play, but a playmaker he is not, not at all. Thats rubbish he played a couple of blinders!

Seen as we had the best defence for a while we look dangerously open when poeple attack us now. Fair result i guess even though we started well. Wasted a lot of play in the second half though with a distinct lack of movement and too many long balls.

I`ll have to agree with that though. No matter our short commings it would be nice to have a fair chance with their players been punished properly for the fouls they commit

Yep meant to give him a mention & Cuellar for the most part. In fact first half we played really well. Petrov & Milner ran the show... like Terry said..we run out of steam after 60mins. We can protest all we want but this is true. Maybe Warnock, Young and Downing were the exceptions but its true. I guess its not a coincidence that these are the players who have missed chunks of the season either through injury, illness or suspension. Young missed at least 3 weeks over xmas/ new year IIRC.

Milners movement and general vision is a class above at times too. We might end up losing him if were not careful.

He`d have to give me a very good reason for not making a sub when our midfiled was so obviously tired in the middle. Even if the players aren`t as good their extra energy may have made a difference. That and the players around them are a damn site better.

We played ok in the first half without creating too many chances. We had a poor deceision from the ref which didn`t help. In the second half we slowly decended in threat and fitness. Our passing got longer and longer to the front men which made it easy for Chelsea to get and keep possesion. We also didn`t look like scoring after they went ahead which is disappointing. We also didn`t get much help in the way of fresh legs which looked pretty obvious too me aswell. We had a mass of crosses which hardly ever got to our strikers, i think this may be more to do with the strikers than the crossers.

Would it reallt make that much difference, its not like they have taken money off a charity.

Your right, but the next month from here is the most important month, and its when we don`t cut it.

I`m not going to go mad after one bad defeat but ive said for some time if we want to be a top team we need to pass the ball better. If your under this much presure possesion wise and you make a mistake it invariably leads to a goal. We need to control things better in general play.

Its too late though mate, our players are falling apart physically. Gabbys chance of going to the WC are gone too if hes injured again today. Hopefully he`s just taken him off to make sure hes ok for next week.
