  1. sounds like carew had a stinker but we all do someday. i think he'll be gone in jan though and petrov in the summer. think houllier is getting there though and can see the tweaks that need to be made.
  2. we aint seen a pass round these parts since little's 3-5-2 revolution!
  3. is heskey going to be houllier's villa version of mcallister at liverpool?! i bloody hope so!
  4. yes vive la revolution! think good houllier has seen us perform poorly in some respects and that NRC was missing should help him choose his XI and give him more inkling on who he needs in and who should be shipped out.
  5. completely agree. we are close and he does have some talewnted players there that MON did not use. if he can get them all competing, get ash and ireland in the right positions and gabby firing we may be a threat. can see carew going in jan though. Agreed, the more I think about it the better it becomes!
  6. i owuld rather he brought in ex villa players as his assistant but PT may be good. would love to see ian taylor or sid cowans there really!
  7. ranieri would be a good appointment he was unlucky at chelski... when will david platt get a big mention?? thought the mirror would have worked that connection in by now. not that any of us want platt as manager!
  8. dexter series 4 on . brilliant. also got sucked in to watching spartacus blood and sand! was entertaining! looking fwd to karl pilkington's an idiot abroad.
  9. we need to go back to littles 3-5-2 but we just dont have the wingbacks for it yet. bring back charles and wright! we def have the cbs though. would like to see friedel carlos dunne collins young downing petrov nrc albrighton ireland aggy with young downing and albrighton swapping in and out
  10. tony pulis would do a job. definitely. and houllier is no bad shout.
  11. surely gary megson! my choice would be (if not considering K-MAC) would be Tony Pulis - he's done great at nearly every club he's been at. other than him, would prob go for Gordon Strachan.
  12. not really read the thread much but what about tony pulis? dont think he's ever been relegated and he doesnt stand for any nonsense either. may not be an attractive choice but he is proven.
  13. im going for a beatuful trio of managers tony adams, john barnes and stan staunton. we'd walk the league with those three in charge.... seriously not sure we're in a bit of a pickle really. sven's about but his mind had wondered since england, brian little would give his left arm for another go im sure! would love macdonald to do well though. may not be popular choice but nigel pearson would do well (altho just gone to hull), what about steve mclaren (oh no wait he's just gone wolfsberg!), big ron and GT MkI return! or will deano roll in to town....
  14. i dont think ellis was even in charge back them - im pretty sure it was bendall - ellis had left the club. villa were run on a tight ship and it was the cumulation of our 8 year surge under saunder that unfortunately he wasnt there to finish off. villa also hardly thrw the money about in the 80s shaw and cowans were both home grown whilst morley and withe may have cost money and spinks the heor had only played about 2 matches before that day! i think what is being said is that it will be the owners and money that bring glory not team spirit, determination, passion and tactics which is sad.
  15. we will start signing people when august starts. milner will go next week. young will stay - he is still our most important midfielder. tis will have to be the year the youngsters come good and i mean albrighton, delfounseo and bannan (delph may be 2011 if injury doesnt clear up easily). also hope nrc finally comes into his own.
  16. i was nominated for rossendale free press sports personality of the year back in the day. fame went to my head.
  17. David Bevan [unattached - Walsall] is that our old young goalkeeper?
  18. he'll be this years milner...next years downing will be fabian delph!
  19. djimi traore has a champ league winners medal!
  20. spartacus blood and sand soft core but frank miller esque violence is watchable!
  21. bloody hell that is a question. my word. i like both. think a harry hill fight is required to sort this one out. prob van basten though. hmmm bergkamp was good though...
