  1. The games have been a pretty tepid tempo, but your right it all adds up. Will be interesting who they play in the final, if Japan, they play a high fast press and will be a struggle in the heat.
  2. What about being paid in oil, they have plenty of it and when the price goes up we cash in….?
  3. Yep was watching the game also, had a good game, some of those passes…
  4. The club would have done their due diligence.
  5. There’s always going to be fans who have different opinions. I’ve supported the club since the mid 70’s so my opinion of what a legend is would be different to someone who’s watched since the 1950’s or since 2005. Yes Jack potentially is the best player Villa has ever developed, but for me that is different to being a club legend.
  6. I think everyone’s emotions will be different, for me when players like Southgate, Delph left, I just hated them. I was gutted when Barry left and my opinion of him changed but would have never hated him. Same with Bosnich ran down his contract and got into Yorke’s ear to leave, never forgiven him. Its different in the relationship we have with those players as we all have our favourites. For me Jack would never be a club legend if he left, he would go into the Yorke, Bosnich, Southgate barrel. Legend is only for those players like Withe and God!
  7. Watched this about an hour ago, didn’t think it was that bad, Andy was being honest in his opinion, believes the lure of Pep etc will sway Jack. Im lucky I live in Australia and outside the bubble, it would be driving me crazy.
  8. The only opinions that matter are the coaching staff, his team mates, family and himself and they all have confidence in his ability. I love his honesty and bringing difficult topics to the public to discuss.
  9. Optus wouldn’t know anyway just following the sheep media, Schwartzer tipped Villa to be relegated last season that’s how much faith I place in their news. If it isn’t in the top 6 they don’t pay any attention to what else in going on in the league. I’d love to get a job where you can be 66 % ignorant.
  10. I was excited when the rumour first surfaced and very happy to see it nearly finalised. The signing gives us quality and depth in the wide areas and we will be very difficult to set up against.
  11. Always believed a real Villa fan would put the club in front of their own ambitions, as playing for the club was the achievement. Ive followed the club since the mid 70’s, people have changed, the game has changed. You have clubs like Man City, Chelsea that have no heart, no soul, but they win trophies. It would be one thing if we were struggling and had no ambition, but we aren’t in that mindset. I have no doubt in my mind that we will have European football within 2-3 years and making another cup final to have the chance of winning a trophy. But will it be enough for a Villa fan? It should be, to be the first captain to hold aloft a cup final trophy in over 25 + years, it will be worth far more, than 3-4 bought trophies at Man City. Jack can buy into the media’s narrative of needing to be at a big club or being a club legend and be talked about for the next 100 years and probably be more important than any Villa player in history. Easy answer for me, but I’m not Jack.
  12. The problem is a lot of fans, especially the younger generation, don’t care about a players history and fans of Man City are like goldfish, they quickly forget what they had and are focussed on the new toy.
  13. If Jack leaves and we end up playing the soulless in a cup final and he scores or assists the winning goal, how will that make people feel and will it affect how he is remembered?
  14. We need to act like a big club and tell the soulless club, Jack is not for sale.
  15. Yep, if Jack stays, Villa will play in Europe and win trophies in the next 3-4 years. Jack will bring millions of new fans to the club and sets the club up for the next 25 years. That's what Purslow and the owners see and you can't put a price on that.
  16. It's easy for others to say, oh you sell Jack and you have 100m+ to spend on new players, but you can't replace him with something similar as these players want European football. The only way we get into Europe is by keeping our best players, not strengthening our competition. Villa doesn't have to do that anymore.
  17. I'm not sure how Jack see's this, does he follow the narrative of the sycophants in the media telling him he needs to go to a big club to win trophies etc, or does he act like a fan would and lead the club back to being a top 4 club again and becoming a club legend? Not an easy choice, I'd hate to be in his shoes, but if he believes, he'll stay with the Villa.
  18. Oh ok, thought you were trying to impart some knowledge of what a proper runner is, I was intrigued. Not sure what a picture of broad beans has to do with broccoli and sprouts, but probably the same as the definition of a proper runner.
  19. Just because it’s Manure, doesn’t mean they have the answers, sometimes it’s getting external specialists in who have the experience, sport science to provide a solution. Theres thousands of players across different sports who have had injury problems and had those issues solved by external specialists modifying their training and gone on to have long careers. Football is more than reading a statistic sheet…
  20. A lot of people have made themselves look very silly and will continue to do so, because their more interested in likes than facts. It really is dumb.
  21. I’m focussed on the player and he’s a very good player, sometimes it’s having a good medical staff to modify his training to get the best out of the him and consistently playing.
  22. Have to agree, as much as I would love him at the club, he’s not going to go to a club as back up, although he’s good enough to push for a starting position, but the club is not going to stunt the development of Konsa.
