  1. They've sold like a gazillion records and sell out huge stadia all over the world year after year... are all of these people 'not into music'? In a word, no. Black Eyed Peas, Boyzone, Westlife, any number of shit pop groups sell gazillions of records, and have sell out tours galore. Doesn't mean they're not shit.
  2. After reading through this thread only one mention of them? Bon Jovi is a good shout. Although are they really rated by anyone who is seriously into music?
  3. Nirvana were and to a degree still are the band of their generation. Until they came a long the mainstream guitar music scene was saturated with bloated stadium rock, and big haired rock poodles (Although the underground music scene at the time did have some of my favourite bands of all time). Nirvana took it back to basics in same way The Pistols, The Clash etc did in the mid to late 70s. Balls out, **** have it, heavy music that had something to say. If you weren't there when it happened, or you missed it, then you probably never will get it. If you were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, you'll never forget how amazing it and they were.
  4. Without reading through 10 pages, bands I consider overrated are as follows: U2 Oasis Red Hot Chilli Pepers Foo Fighters The Killers Kings Of Leon Kasabian Plus anyone of a number of NME 'next big thing' bands from the last 10 years.
  5. Best description I've ever heard of a band, was of Glasvegas being described as sounding, "like The Proclaimers shouting into a bucket." Have fun though...
  6. Just heard a tune by a band called Flats which I enjoyed quite a bit. Anyone know anything about them?
  7. Went to see Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards at Milo in Leeds last night, featuring my mate on steel pedal and guitar. Well worth trying to catch them on tour with I Am Kloot in May. Their support band The Wooden Sky are worth checking out too, if you get the chance.
  8. Makes me wonder why I bothered going to Sheffield, and VP against Blackburn in the previous rounds. Total waste of time, might as well have not bothered wasting my money, if we were gonna end up in a position where our manager didn't even want us to progress. Can not for the life of me understand why we didn't at least give it a go. Gutless and pathetic.
  9. The only good thing to come out of this is the prospect of Bannan and Delph as our future midfield partnership. Both been shining lights in an otherwise dog shit performance. Gabby and Petrov giving the ball away at every opportunity. Bradley looks more Roy Walker than Roy Keane. Can only see more Citeh goals.
  10. What a pain in the aris. Would much rather this was a 3 o'clock Saturday game. Oh well, at least the country gets to see our 7-0 revenge! :winkold:
  11. Watched it last night. Very good indeed. Although it brushed over Reggae's influence on current music, and no mention of it's influence on Jungle etc. And nothing really mentioned about Dance Hall or Ragga. Still enjoyed it very much though, and recommend people check it out on iPlayer.
  12. Why oh why is it always the case that if a player hasn't scored yet, or is having a drought, they always put the ball in the back of the net against Villa? Dog shit! Downing, Walker and Petrov off. Heskey, Cuellar and Reo-Coker on for me. Go 442, Young back on the left wing.
  13. Back of who? Villa I assume. Just realised I mistyped it. Should have read, "They were glad to see the back of me, and I was glad to see the back of them."
  14. Just seen Curtis Davies on Sky Sports News talking about his move to the dark side. "They were glad to see the back of them, and I was glad to see the back of them." Silly boy.
  15. One by U2 is a choice?! Feck me, I think I'd stop going to the match if we sang anything by U fecking 2!
  16. Just reading through this, and some of the suggestions make me cringe to be honest. For what it's worth, I'd like us to sing 'The Bells Are Ringing' more often, although this never seems to catch on with the 'Your Support is F****** Sh*t' brigade, as there's no swearing in it, and it's not about sha. If we are looking to adopt a song that has not been sung before, then I'd go for 'Bring Me Sunshine' by Morcambe & Wise. I've often thought it'd be a brilliant song to sing down the football.
  17. They all hate us in the North East now. Geordies for sending them down, the Makems for nicking their best palyer. Oh dear, what a pity! Try living here in the North East, it's uncomfortable yet hilarious I do mate! Lived in Darlington for the past 14 years. Had a few interesting conversations this week to say the least! :winkold:

  19. Hard to pick between Collins and Dunne for MOTM, both feckin brilliant. Cuellar had a cracking game too, as did Stan. What can you say about Bent? Did the business, and that's why we paid what we did for him. Only grumble is I never got to the bookies to put a tenner on a 1-0 win with Bent scoring!!
  20. Feckin tune, that's me digging Marquee Moon out, and getting it whacked on next.
  21. Full album of 'Songs For Swinging Lovers' by Sinatra. It goes so well with a few Jamesons.
  22. Feeling is mutual. I hate most of the media, and don't give a toss about SSN!
