  1. That reds been comnig for Makoun since he turned up. He throws himself in too much.
  2. Watching Villa these days is like watching lesbian porn. It's easy on the eye, but theres just no penetration.
  3. One step forward two steps back is about how I feel at the minute. Dunne and Collins get their act together so Friedel decides to have an afternoon off. WTF is it about Villa this season? Are they determined to make the fans as pissed off as possible or something? Yes, the off the pitch transfer activity was nice, but the results have gone against us again today and we cannot afford to be drawing with Fulham at Villa Park, no matter who they beat last week. Ratings: Friedel - 4 Made a good 1 on 1 save from Johnson, but was at fault for both goals. Clarke Dunne & Collins - 6 Steady Walker - I thought he was garbage apart from his goal today. Crossing was shite, passing was shite, although he worked hard. 5 Makoun - 6 Not as effective as he has been and gave the ball away a bit. Petrov - 5 Poor game. Downing - 7 Set up the goal and put some dangerous balls in Gabby - 5 Like a member of 4chan, he was anonymous. Bent - Had zero service to feed off Ash - Totally wasted up front. Needs to chalk his boots too. I know it was vlowing a gale, but this has been going on for some time. Heskey & Albrighton - Not on long enough to rate. I reckon we'll do better at Blackpool. They'll play a 4-3-3 and look to attack which means we can break with pace. We always struggle when the onus is on us to break another team down, but Blackpool will come at us. Either that or Charlie Adam will get a hat-trick..... For me, next game would be: -----------Friedel---------- Cuellar---Collins---Dunne----Clark ------Makoun-----Reo-Coker------- ------------ Bannan-------------- Downing------------Young -------------Bent----------------- Makoun and Coker to sit tight and protect the back four. Bannan to ping the ball around and get the ball wide or sneak the through ball to Bent if it's on. He's the only player we have that has the ability to weight the passes just right. Downing and Young to break with pace.
  4. Diabolical free kick from Ash. When was the last time he scored from one?
  5. Well between them our 2 centre halves have cost us the game.
  6. Makoun has been our best player in the first half, by a mile.
  7. To be fair, this is Bents 3rd game and he hasn't had a kick. Young would be better out wide. Bannan is a better bet for playing off a striker as he can spot the clever balls.
  8. Shrek looks well up for this game tonight. Need to be cleverer and wind him up a bit.
  9. Firstly, it seems ironic for me that the home and away fixtures against Man City have supplied both the high and low points of the season. and shows how quick things can change in football. Todays performance showed everything we lacked at Eastlands. Discipline, character, energy and desire. For me, the two key words there are discipline - that was the most disciplined, clinical performance I've seen in some time - and energy - We kept going for the full 93 minutes. Toward the end of the game, we were composed and kept the ball, played intelligent football, kept our shape and concentration against one hell of an attacking force. I'm not going to give marks as the whole team were terrific and I really look forward to Makoun getting on the pitch, though it'd be a shame to drop anyone going on todays performance. Maybe Gerard does know best after all..........
  10. Poor, poor performance, could quite easily have been a loss. We rode our luck at times but we need to cling on to every positive we can at the minute. Friedel - 8 Made some cracking saves. New lad - 8 A couple of stray passes but more than made up for it with his goal and work rate. Dunne - 6 A couple of iffy moments but some crunching challenges too. Cuellar - 6 Looked a bit out of sorts today. Not Dunnes ideal partner. Clark - 6 Good going forward, and better defensively than Warnock. Would rather have Bridge though I think. Young - 5 Needs to grow up. Reo-Coker - 6 Steady Bannan - 6 Showed some nice touches, was dissapointed he went off. Clearly the best 'technical' player we have. Albrighton - 6 Not as lively as he can be, but a well taken goal. Pires - 4 Who? Gabby - 4 Not at the races. Not sure whether he's not fit or not happy. Petrov - 7 Tried to get forward whenever he could. His legs may be going but can't help thinking he's a reassuring presence on the pitch. Downing - 6
  11. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
  12. Fucki it, we've no need to chase the game now. They're fans will be on their case, just keep it tight and hit 'em on the break.
  13. Shocking refereeing performance in that first half. He lost credibility when he gave them their penalty followed by several yellow cards to our lads, all of which - bar Friedels - have been engineered by Chelsea players diving all over the place.
  14. Christ, things must be bad if the Mackems now have enough clout to turn our players heads.
  15. I blame Houllier. He's made poor decisions and de-motivated the players. Theres no point blaming Randy, he's done EVERYTHING properly. Most people were questioning MON at the end of last season. We'd seen bizarre decisions from him, massive amounts of money spent on average players and the famous 'end of season dip' - every season. How can Randy be criticised for pulling the reins in a bit after the money he's sunk into this club? Pretty much every other team in the league would kill for a chairman as generous as Randy. Moving on to he who shall not be named walking out 5 days before the end of the season, again Randy did the right thing. Gave the reins to K-Mac, who did a steady job. Now while K-Mac was in charge, we had some real mixed results. Bad losses and decent wins. Kev also kept questioning whether he wanted the job or not, publically. If he'd had said during press conferences 'Jaysus I want this job soooo much', rather than 'I'm not sure I want to be doing this permenantly' then I reckon he'd have got it. As it was, Randy appointed a team to find the right man. Of the managers that were available, Houllier had the best CV. Success with Liverpool and success with Lyon. He wanted to play football the 'right' way and apparently showed a willingnness to develop the kids. It's not Randys fault that Houllier has turned out to be a massive, massive flop and a word removed of the highest order. If you want to blame someone, blame Houlllier for being a shit manager and a total dickhead. The sooner he **** off, the better. Get K-Mac back in and give him until the end of the season (if he wants it).
  16. Delfouneso is wasted in a team like this. If he played for Spurs he'd get shit loads of goals with his movement and instinct.
  17. Dire apart from Albrighton and Lichaj. We are well and truly in the relegation mire, especially with Wigan and West Ham winning.
