  1. to his credit Clark has really stepped and improved his game. A lot more confident and assured with his game. Baker is a decent back up. Okore will be providing great competition and hes back in a few months. We may need another CB but we REALLY need to sort our midfield. I personally think we need a DM and an AM. Or 1 top quality all round midfielder ie Milner (we aint getting him but a similar player with similar attributes).
  2. probably trying to get Norwich to start worrying.. this reminds me of when we bid for Dempsey to try and convince Genk to agree a fee for Benteke.
  3. We dont need Lescott. hes not even that good anymore. Obviously better than Clark and would improve us.. but Clark and Vlaar have been good together this season. I think we are crying out for a midfielder more than anything. If we get Lescott AND a quality midfielder.. then yeah why not. But i can only see us signing 1 decent player.. i just hope we sort out the midfield role as its not looking likely at the moment. Our only target is Hoolahan who the telegraph are saying our interest has 'cooled'.
  4. Can work the other way too... A League has a salary cap.. but loans dont fit in the salary cap.. they are separate (i think theres a restriction of games though 4-6 or something). So Man City can buy a top player (whos not good enough for City but good enough for the A League) and send him out on loan to Melbourne City. Will open a can of worms thats for sure. Basically what Red Bull are doing now... franchising teams.
  5. so over this saga. Hes not Messi. Move on to the next target.
  6. Cant see it. We will sign one more and that will be Hoolahan on deadline day.
  7. isnt he a winger? I didnt realise he was a striker. Havent seen too much of Dongou.
  8. Interesting. Given the team colours, do you think they meant to buy Victory and got Heart by mistake? Rumour has it that once the A League season finishes they will rename the club to Melbourne City and have a sky blue jersey....... (may clash with Sydney FC though).
  9. Did he really say that?! lol surely not? maybe he meant in the american league. Poor bloke. haha
  10. Interesting indeed. There is a salary cap so they cant go spend a truckload. Although next seasons marquee will be interesting! They want to build an academy. Which will be good for Australian Football in general. Great to see. Whispers coming out that another big club has purchased Western Sydney Wanderers which will be announced soon as well. Need an A League thread! Man City have New York City as well.. so i guess they will rename to Melbourne City. Interesting strategy they have to dominate football.
  11. No, no all wrong. My source tells me Maradona would be appointed VMF Head Chef. All wrong? No Juan Pablo? Bloody hell. Better not be Alex Pablo MCleishio as manager.
  12. Maradona CEO..and his 'south american' backers.. from Colombia. Juan Pablo Angel will be manager.. before anyone PM's me for details. I cant... Heard it here first. #ITK
  13. 15 min off the bench when were chasing a game wont hurt. Ah well. Lambert sees him every day i guess.
  14. I am perplexed by these comments by Paul Lambert. He was signed as a wide forward apparently. Hes not physical enough for Premier League. But Tonev is? I can name another 10 players that arent as physical as Helenius. I can understand in a forward position.. he may not have the strength to hold up the ball but that wasnt why he was signed. Hes a great finisher.. never misses in training... the only game he had a chance in recently and he proved that to be correct. So why does he need to be physical.. if he gets a chance and puts it away.. isnt that what a striker is for? Height: 1.95 m Weight: 83 kg Jordan Bowery Height: 1.85 m Weight: 76 kg Mr Tonev Height: 1.78 m Weight: 69 kg Maybe Helenius is just fat?
  15. guess the Hutton rumours werent true. Shame. Wow its really quiet at the moment. Not just at Villa. In General. They should just make the transfer window one week.
  16. Who knows. Has anyone seen any matches with him on loan? Is he even playing yet? I hope he kicks on. Seems a good lad.
  17. There is communication and then there is communication. The club would never allow leaking team lineups or transfer targets to anyone - it just undermines our position. Having said that, it would be nice if the club did communicate on some things - such as plans for the first team/club/stadium and the like. Yeah i agree. I just think if he was here in an official capacity it wouldnt have been an issue (he wouldnt have disclosed what he did). I think he went a bit far with the line ups as he probably wanted to prove he was legit. I doubt Jose Mourinho was reading VillaTalk to find out our line ups but i know what you mean. I think he did well to calm the fans down.. and provide a bit of direction for the disillusioned. Exactly what we needed. I really hope he hasnt lost his job. If he had.. he could probably come on now and post? So hopefully he still retains his position. He was obviously close to Paul so maybe Paul forgave him? Who knows.
  18. he took pressure off them by communicating with us. HH should have got a payrise not sacked.
  19. thanks but no thanks to Red Bull.
  20. Sheffield UNITED. Sorry to pick on you but this has been annoying me since the third round draw on here, there's more than one team in Sheffield! maybe he wants to sell him to the city itself Or the Sheffield team itself, can't remember what league they in but they are supposedly the oldest football club. Sheffield FC, founded 1857 and recognised by FIFA as the oldest club in the world. Play in the NPL division one south. thats the one..... lol
  21. But the current midfield are? He would be a huge improvement on what we have. Ah well.. we aint getting him. I hope we are after a quality midfielder.
  22. why you guys getting worked up over nothing? he just has strong faith in the fact that he was told were going to make moves for a big signing.. he still believes that and he just reiterated that. No new information or am i missing something? Anyway.. if we can get rid of Hutton... we pretty much have most the bomb squad gone which is a successful window in itself. Given is the only tough one. I doubt Boro are paying alot of his wages and hes only there for a month or two?
