  1. Subbookkeeper is the only English word with four double letters in a row.
  2. Note the bit where I said those who've seen my facebook status need not vote!! And yes, Tony and one or two others were right, two year ban and a six week curfew. I was expecting the 2 year ban but the curfew came as a big surprise, not really sure why it was there either, maybe because he was coming home drunk to his kids that night, which isn't exactly responsible as it's just him who lives with them (they were with a baby sitter at the time). But yes, like you lot I was expecting some pathetic sentence, so I'm glad this has happened.
  3. Well I imagine posting a poll would have an impact on the votes such as the fact that they can actually have a vote whereas if I hadn't they wouldn't be able to... Yeah I understand what you mean though. I was just wondering if what surprised me would be a surprise to other people in this situation. I'll put the answer up later tonight I reckon, save waiting until tomorrow.
  4. I am following this line of thought and I can't be bothered voting. Couldn't you just tell us? Don't vote then. I'm interested to see what punishment people think that people who do things like that get as the result was different from my expectations (picking my words carfully) so was wondering what other people would assume. No-one's forcing anyone to vote.
  5. I told you about this a few weeks ago. The guy who was driving up our road and did this to the garden. Anyway he was in court last week, charged with drink driving (he was twice the legal limit), nothing else, no dangerous driving or speeding or anything as although he was almost certainly speeding there's no evidence. The police rang us this morning to tell us what the result was. So what do you reckon? I'll give the result in a couple of days edit: Those who've seen my status on facebook need not vote... edit: Ok so one person was right. He got 2 years driving ban and a 6 week curfew. Much better than I was expecting. Was expecting 2 year ban maybe but not the curfew (he got charged court costs as well of course)
  6. As opposed to Korea producing good ones? Ji-Sung Park, no? That one who was at Reading and Wolves for a bit, then maybe Fulham I seem to remember was pretty good too. I remember him looking very good against us in MON's first home game. Seol Ki-Hyung maybe? Something like that.
  7. Think yourself lucky, ours had to retire last season!
  8. Same. Especially with how dead it semed outside the ground. Walking to the ground from the NS end we hardly saw anyone, we were saying we'd be lucky to hit 30k based on that. What was it in the end? About 38k?
  9. Petrov in for Sidwell. Unsure about the defence, maybe Collins back in but would seem harsh on Cuellar or Young, whoever he chose to drop.
  10. Yeah, much better at home than away yet today they drew away at Man City, going to be a tricky game. Will be my first away trip of the season though (falls nicely just before a treatment week and got a mate who lives nearby) so I'm looking forward to it.
  11. Great performance today, particularly from Carew, he's absolutely brilliant when he plays like that, if only he could do it more consistently, if he could perform anything like approaching that each week he'd be one of the best strikers in the league, not sure why he doesn't do it more consistently, is it simply that sometimes he can't be arsed and others he can? Or is that harsh? He was exceptional anyway, easily MOTM for me. Honourable mentions for Milner and Gabby too, I think Wednesday shows how valuable Milner is to us. Gabby was in great form too, he plays with so much more intelligence than even this time last year, not just head down run or hope to get onto flicks, he can hold the ball up and pick a decent pass. I forgot about Ash too whose delivery was better today, not just drifting corners in. Good to see us really putting a team away, not something we've seen for a while. Goal difference could be important at the end of the season and last season ours wasn't even close to those around us. Great to see NRC back too, didn't have his greatest game but what do you expect when he doesn't start most of the time? Glad to see MON make 3 subs too when we'd won the game, Delph (as opposed to Delf) looked particularly lively and had a good run.
  12. Everybody knows that Pat. Now do "SONAR". SONAR stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation? You learn something new every day...
  13. Laser is actually an acronym for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation."
  14. The Emirates? The most lucrative stadium in the country if reports are to be believed. The JJB was widely called that, not even sure if it had a non-commercial name. But it's called the DW now anyway. The McAlpine was always known as that too, think it's the Galpharm now, or something like that anyway.
  15. I'd have liked to see Sidwell of for Reo but I suppose this might work too. Glad we did something though, not often we change things at half time.
  16. Hi General, Hope your recovery is still going well and that you'll be back at VP soon. I'm just wondering at what stage away tickets tend to sell out this season? The first one I've had the chance to go to this season is Burnley and have noticed they go on sale to anyone with an away booking history (which I have) next Tuesday, are they likely to get to this stage or do they tend to sell out before it gets to that stage this season? I only ask because I could go through season ticket holders from here and get it but then it wouldn't go on my booking history, so I'm just trying to work out if it's worth waiting until next tuesday so I can have them on my booking history or just go and get them now to make sure I make the game but then not have them on my booking history? Thanks
  17. All togeter now: Sammy Yu's barmy army Sammy Yu's barmy army
  18. I thought that but was assured he only took it up since being on Pop World. Not sure how reliable that information was. I know he's not brand new to it, I remember seeing him do some on tv in the last couple of years.
  19. Sorry only just come back on. 12% of you would have been delighted as he did 15 mins more than you would expect and 15% of you would have been satisfied as he finished at 9:15. Although he was funny and I enjoyed it, having previously seen Ross Noble (twice), Mark Watson and Bill Bailey, and from what I remember they all went on longer than that and didn't have support acts either. Like I say, it was still good, just a bit short. I suppose he's reasonably new to stand-up and maybe that's why he quit buzzcocks to concentrate on it, to build up more material.
  20. It was at the Grand Theatre I think it's called. And as it happens I am actually planning on doing some stand-up as a way of raising money for charity. I can't run marathons or anything at the moment so thought it might be a good way to raise a bit. Will take a fair bit of organising though, any ideas on how to go about it?
  21. I went to see Simon Amstell do stand-up on Monday in Wolverhampyon and, I'll say I was surprised at the length of it, I won't say whether it was short or long so as not to affect the poll. The 'gig' started at 7:45, had a warm-up act and a 15-20 minute interval. Was £20 per ticket. So what time you you expect it to finish?
  22. Can you imagine one of our board getting photographed looking like this? Me neither Ok that picture seems to come and go so you can see it here. I can't put it up straight from that site as it widens the page hugely.
  23. Is that four penalties conceded by guzan out of eleven faced? Whatever it is it's damn impressive anyway!
