  1. Grow some balls man! Throw a sickie!
  2. Thanks for the link. No gloves is a good start in my opinion! No gloves, no snood and nice looking leg tatts!
  3. So, stepping into Randy's shoes for a day - would you sack him or continue to back him? A bit of a daft question if you don't mind me saying. I mean when? Today? No obviously not there are some signs of improvement. That said, its one win. Its his 4th win in 17 games or something like that, I think is obvious that he must improve and do so significantly which is the point I was making. That was kind of what prompted my question. You have been pretty vocal about wanting GH sacked, and you said that you're not going to change your mind about him based on a good transfer window and a couple of decent results - but if given the power to pull the trigger you are saying you wouldn't - which suggests to me that you have softened your stance on him a smidge. I wasn't trying to be snide or anything though - was genuinely interested in where you current stance lies. This is kind of why I was asking if the poll could be re-done now - what the percentages might be. Seems to be many have softened their stance a bit now we can see that he actually seems to have a bit of a plan in his head about where this is all going.

  5. Richard Dunne's shocking early season form, dismissal from the squad and return to the fold in top form is one of the more bizarre sub-plots of Houllier's reign. Can Houllier take the credit for rehabilitating Dunne's form & attitude or is it simply coincidence - ie Dunne getting a few weeks off to get his body & mind back into shape?
  6. Icelanders do it aswell. "How do you like Iceland?" has been the standard question in all interviews with artists from other countries. Cringeworthy. Same here in Aus. Jerry Seinfeld once called Melbourne the "asshole of the world" and you'd think the world had ended. I think you'll find Americans are the only ones who don't do this "how do you like our country" thing - the attitude is of course you like America and if you don't then you are clearly a terrorist.
  7. Just wondering if we could re-start the poll?" I'd be interested to see how that percentage has changed now.
  8. While I have never really wanted to see Houllier sacked after the previous Man City game I wouldn't have shed many tears for him had he been shafted - largely because it seemed he had lost the players and there was no way back. Slowly but surely though, it seems, he has begun to - if not win them over - establish an understanding with the squad that it's his way or the highway. The spirit is finally returning and it seems the players are finally starting to take ownership of their performances.
  9. Every Nike executive on the planet would have a massive boner looking at that pic!
  10. We certainly rode our luck in the 2nd half but you know what? Lady Luck has been **** around on us all season and tonight we saw some signs that maybe she has returned to our bed. Coupled with that was an immense performance by our defence - especially Collins (MOTM), Cuellar and Dunne. The performance had shades of the Spurs match at VP last season where they battered us and just couldn't find a way through. Great performances from Young, Bent, Agbonlahor and Petrov. I am surprised some have given Albrighton top marks tonight though - while he put in a shift I thought his crossing was off and he struggled to get past the defence. Our main problem in the 2nd half was simply giving the ball away too much. Hopefully Makoun can come in and rectify that. Fantastic effort lads on a day our "relegation rivals" copped a licking. Now starts the ascent!
  11. Cuellar has man-marked Tevez successfully on a number of occasions.
  12. Has number 5 on the back - nice way to set off a little Dunne on his way speculation!
  13. Aha, so it's a fight you want Sorry, but you're not pushing the right buttons. I'm not from around here, so I'm prepared to agree with you if you'll be my friend Done! I'm from Perth but I support all the Melbourne teams anyway!
  14. Has there ever been a Blues game against McLeish where he hasn't had a big old moan about the Refs afterwards? How on earth was there a penalty to them?
  15. Apples and oranges mate. But all Sydney teams are scum (Swans, Roosters, Blues, whatever)
  16. Why would you want to watch a Villa match with Sydney supporters? Horrible club! (just joking - I know what you meant)
  17. It was one hell of a frustrating match - I was screaming in frustration in the end just from the sheer rotten luck in front of goal. It's the way our season is going - there often seems to be a few coats of white paint between winning and losing. Hard to split Albrighton and Walker for man of the match - I think this is because they played as a unit and really seem to have developed a good understanding. I reckon Downing has left the building mentally - he seemed to not give a **** when he gave the ball away and when Clark wouldn't throw to him at throw-ins on a number of occasions he threw his hands up and turned his back to the play. Very disconcerting as he was our best player in the first few months of the season.
  18. Carew has been decent but Friedel's kicking has been atrocious. Carew is double teamed but has managed to get several flick-ons to Gabby. Centre midfield is our weak link - just being bypassed by Collins and Dunne hoofing it. We just keep looking lost in the final third of the pitch. We need to just start backing ourselves and having a shot rather than trying to pass it on. At this stage, while neither team needs a draw I'd accept a 0-0.
  19. It's 2013 in my game and Hull have just unveiled Marlon Harewood as their new manager!
  20. I have just got into Entourage & I love it - it's quite funny and enjoyable and very blokey.
  21. Neither would Barry - why would he?
  22. Pires looked about a second and a half behind the play the whole time - passing to where players were, rather than where they were running to, failing to run onto passes etc.
  23. These things seem to go in patterns - a few seasons back it was all Man Utd, last season it was all Blackburn - for that reason it will probably be Blues.
  24. I had Albrighton as man of the match, just shading walker. Walker looked fantastic going forward but Albrighton was instrumental in two of the goals and scored one and his work rate in the last 20 minutes when we were under the pump was incredible. I hope Houllier saw enough of Pires tonight to realise he should be little more than training fodder and a very very very last resort.
