  1. Mark Hughes has a clause in his contract that allows him to speak freely to other clubs on the 1st June. This would also fit in with the June decision thing that has been banded around.
  2. I am never embarrassed by our club no matter what happens because I couldnt careless what anyone else thinks about the club. As for Rafa, well yes his later time at Liverpool wasnt great but he still won the CL and FA Cup, had enough rep to sign Torres and challenged for the league. Again his time at Inter wasnt great but whoever went there was on a hiding to nothing. The team had just won the treble with arguably not the strongest squad in each of the respected competitions, it was only one way from there. He managed a win rate of over 50% at Tenerife, Valencia, Liverpool and still nearly managed that at Inter. I'd more than have some of that for a few mad interviews. Oh and who cares whether he is liked by other people in the premier league? Who knows if he would be good for us or not but to say it would be embarrassing is another typical overreation from VT.
  3. Did you accidentally type £10m a year as well?
  4. Err no he's not, but good inside knowledge.
  5. Sometimes its not all about creating a chance, which he did often, however sometimes just sometimes people need to admit they may just be wrong. You often scoff at MOTM awards and youve already laughed off the award form the match day sponsors given to Downing, but our own Villatalk gave him MOTM followed by The Sun, The Telegraph, The Independant and The Guardian. Those are just the ones I could be arsed to check, now he must have done something for all these people to come to the same conclusion otherwise it would be a very odd coincidence for him to get MOTM when you say he did nothing of note.
  6. Although thinking about it his head is bigger than Villa Park so maybe this post is correct.
  7. So we have 2 wins, 2 draws and a defeat, which over the course of a season is around 60pts. Only 4 less than we had last year which was our highest points total for years. Also good enough over the years for a place between 4th and 7th. During this 28 days you can not deny the club has been through more turmoil, regardless of fault if you want to a point a finger, it has been through turmoil. This would have had an effect on two of our games I cant see how people can just dismiss it as they have, what happened was very serious. The performance yesterday was poor, as was the subs, as was some of the players attitudes. No one knows if GH gave the instructions on the subs, he most certainly didnt give a team talk and maybe he might of called the team differently had he been around at training. The problem is we dont know but its all very black and white to some on VT with assumptions being made all over the place. All I do know for certain is that the games he was in charge for and definately called ALL the shots we acquired 7 of 9pts.
  8. I couldnt careless what decisions he makes during the game if we win. In a perfect world yes i'd love us to play amazing football and whilst I wouldnt want to play like Stoke and I doubt we will, I really couldnt care less what happens as long as we win.
  9. I'm sure you will anyway but let us know if he replies.
  10. You should send that predator one to his twitter I bet he'd like it
  11. A fear I share, it would be a disaster. At leats GM wont put his foot in it with the media, in fact he seems quite good with them. Cant say it would be my first choice though.
  12. What if all the players say Big Sam. Would the club appoint him? Think there would be more chance of them saying Mike Bassett
  13. I used to have a boss that suffered with depression and also had a clinical disorder. This disorder would largely come about when he was under pressure. He'd encouter a scenario then would mull it over and constantly think about it. Each time he thought about the scenario it would change a little until eventually it was much changed from the original, a bit like chinese whispers. The problem being was that he would truly believe the final version of events in his head were what really happened. He once accused me of saying that I hated working for him and that he was not respected by other members and was in fact a joke. He believed I said this in front of him and two other colleagues and the only way I wasnt disciplined was that the other two colleagues were questioned and fortunately denied this conversation took place. Now I'm not a psychologist but Ireland is a bit wacky and with the stories he has come out with in the past I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt suffer with a version of this disorder.
  14. This is where i'm at, he's an oddball thats for sure but he also came in to the club at an odd time. Let him have a pre season see how he goes, that said if we did sell him early on cant say i'd be bothered.
  15. :? Allardyce is English and can speak English. Capello fails in both respects. Have you read Mein Kampf?
  16. Ok then so why hasnt he? Fair enough then, sometimes its hard to reason with people when they have views like this.
  17. Best win % of any England Manager. Never said he wasnt partly to blame but you believe he is to blame for Englands poor World Cup. The players totally bottled it. But no lets get Allardyce a man who has achieved so little in football that Capello could probably use Sams trophy cabinet as storage space for his his own honours. Where his and your reasoning for his long ball is because of the constraints he has had to work with. Which of course is total shit, because Newcastle werent exactly broke and the likes of Coyle at Bolton, Hodgson at the baggies and many others all play decent football with constraints.
  18. Because he can't even speak English and I can't wait to see the back of him. Yeah because he's been so shit, his record speaks for itself. Another case of players being blameless and its all the managers fault in the World Cup on the back of a media witch hunt led by the delightfully pleasant Oliver Holt.
  19. It does seem to be something that has been forgotten about. I too would love to know, since it may give us an insight in what the Board thinks. Unfortunately, i think we will have to wait until Sven lets it out in some forthcoming memoirs or something My bet, it was cash............his cash :winkold:
  20. He wouldn't be my choice but I rather suspect he might be Randy's, I could certainly live with his appointment and would rather it than a risk like Lambert. I thought Randy and Sven had an argument at his interview
  21. He's always **** injured.............Oh thats right he was injured when he was at the "Rocket" too!!!! Yeah but it wasnt a groin injury
  22. ......yeah its great, you get to take pictures of Stan Collymore slipping your missus a crippler in the dug-out.......or she can take pics of you if you prefer.......
  23. I'm not an Emile hater but whilst Emile did do some donkey work and ultimately won the ball for our goal he really didnt look good and all too often gave the ball away. I imagine his passing stats during that game would be awful.
  24. This is from F365 Darren Bent To return for the sake of argument to January's muse that 'if it is true that relegation from the elite would cost Villa £50m, and 40 points will be sufficient for survival, then each of the 17 Villa still required before this weekend would be worth a few pounds short of £3m. One match-winning goal later, it could thus be bottom-lined that Bent repaid almost £6m on his debut - approximately a quarter of his prospective total cost'. Since then, Bent hasn't returned quite such a rich dividend, with two of his five goals occurring in defeat, but if January's calculation was accurate, then his brace in the 2-2 draw at Everton was worth £3m and his strike this weekend, without which Villa would have only drawn, another £6m. In sum, he's already very nearly repaid all of the up-front fee paid by Villa to Sunderland for his services.
