  1. “ If I saw something wrong, if I saw a massive breakout, I’d come down hard” ( Trump on States with no lockdown) Just how ill informed, or how despicably deliberately obtuse, can someone get. You want to scream at him “By Then IT Will Be Too Late You Scumbag” Its horrible to watch.
  2. The extent to which that man muddies the waters around this will cost hundreds of lives. He sounds like he’s discussing plans for a wedding not the gravest crisis in decades. ” great/ beautiful/ amazing/ wonderful/ terrific/ special/ fantastic/“
  3. Will it though ? I know some won’t like it - some already don’t. Most people I’ve spoken to would rather stay alive. I know nobody personally who goes anywhere, who wants to go anywhere, or who wants an early end to the lockdown. If some don’t like it, let them go and work in the Hospitals and after work they can spend as long as they like outside.
  4. Just listened/ listening to Trump. Indescribably vile vile man. I know that’s not news but he really is excelling himself now. ”
  5. Like so many you are forgetting 1: this isn’t the dead, it’s those who died, in Hospital, having been diagnosed. There are others, not in Hospital, not diagnosed.. 2: these dead are likely to have initially been sick when the “ cases” were lower, even up to 2 weeks ago....we will see the numbers of dead from the current cases later... 3:: the “cases” are those sick enough to be Hospitalised, for the most part, tens of thousands are estimated to be sick but at home. and more, but I’ve said it many times so that’ll have to do
  6. Me too. Ive not been out for a month, if I’ve got it we are truly doomed.
  7. I get that, and I get there will be all sorts, and I get it will be a need rather than a want in some cases...my Son is in a flat....but as a rule, why risk it....I guess I could rephrase it....why risk going any further than is absolutely essential, for any longer than is absolutely essential.
  8. Wish your ma Happy Birthday from me and tell her a Thank You !
  9. Richard Branson and the rest have been “trickling down” on us all for a long time
  10. I get it, and I know many will disagree with me, I understand that, and I’ve no wish for a row with anyone. But.. Those 500 people have been advised/asked to stay at home unless it’s essential. Those 500 people needed the means of getting there. That’s cars, petrol, garages, breakdown services, pothole fixers, buses, drivers, trains, maintenance people, litter pickers and God knows what else. And it involves touching handles, using public toilets, and whatever else. Then it becomes “ let’s take a few cans”. Then it’s a group of lads drinking too much. And where that leads ? Then it’s warm weather, and there’s a fire started in the Pennines, or wherever, imagine the fires of previous years in the current situation. Then there’s the sunburn - hospitals experience an increase in incoming through it. Im not talking about you, or the place you go ( every person will argue their particular place is no problem). But - this is serious. It’s life threatening, game changing. I say again....why would anyone risk it ? Stay home. Stay close to home. Walk round the block. In a very short time in the scheme of things people can do more.
  11. I’m not certain whether you meant this or something else....I can think of two others. I hope you meant walking and not the other one ..... ..
  12. Business after business after business asking for Government ( ie taxpayers) money. I don’t mind, just so long as when this is over they are happy to give it back in the form of higher taxes so we can properly prepare for the next one, and live in a civilised way, by having a Country that makes Health, Homes, and Care a priority.
  13. I would say, having watched the video, it could be worse. Pretty much everyone was keeping some distance. Why you’d risk it is utterly beyond me though. Ive not been past my front step for nearly a month, why risk it ?
  14. Conscription. One warning. Then you are drafted into Risk areas to help. Seriously. I know I will be mocked, but this isn’t a DRILL !!!!
  15. Terrific. I’m well ready. Strewn bog roll all over the toilet floor, lit a fag threw it inside and waited for it to go out before I used the lav, eaten a half cooked pie, stuck a tenner in an envelope marked “ William Hill” and threw it in the bin. Now all I need is to get really pissed off for half an hour and spend the rest of the day arguing with @TRO as to why it weren’t the Managers fault. Bring it on !
  16. Ah, good old religion. Like those interviewed by CNN yesterday coming out of Church in Tennessee “ I’m covered in the blood of Jesus Christ so I am protected”.... ” What about those you might infect ?” “ What about them it’s a free Country”. Compassion and togetherness there.
  17. I don’t wish to be pedantic, but many many more than that will “ have it”. Its such a misconception ( not having a dig) that the figures indicate either the spread or the seriousness I feel compelled to keep pointing this out, sorry
  18. I would say it’s the equivalent of having had Dunkirk, seeing Hitlers battle barges in Calais, and giving the RAF a holiday. So, no.
  19. I can’t think of another historical event where a Government ( ours and that in the U.S.) had so much information about an impending disaster and did so little about it. Unforgivable.
