You would think our management team, especially Round, would have been planning for this. It is not exactly a surprise, and has been ongoing for a large number of games.
I still think that the right manager should be able to organise the team better to improve things. Admittedly the defence is just about ok for this level and the midfield, with the exception of Tshibola, is truly horrendous, but having a system and the players knowing what they are supposed to be doing as part of that system would be a big positive.
I was lukewarm about RDM from the start, but happy to give him a chance. I will be happy to see him go, he is not up to the job, but I am also worried about who will be appointed in his place. Hopefully Xia will be getting sound advice from the right people.
I agree that those 3 are very poor. They are, however at least, bodies in the middle, adding some sort of strength, though limited. And Grealish has been totally ineffective and McCormick has been injured.
I can understand that RDM is trying everything that he thinks might help, but this does come across as a sign of a struggling manager.
Has not really been commented on, but I like that the following tweet explains Xia's absence. It stops any rumours or theories regarding his non attendance. That is why I like his tweeting.
Open letter to Mr. Xia.
He was your choice. It was a mistake He is not up to the job. Don't compound the error. Sack him now.
A great opportunity to bury a poor decision. Big Sam will be all over the newspapers for days. They won't even notice that RDM is gone.
