  1. If you've never read this ... it's worth a read.
  2. You want to stalk Robert Plant? Haha. My grandaddy is buried near there and it's where my father was born. It's an obsession probably mostly because it's part of family lore.. I did get to go when i was a child. I didn't know about the Zeppelin connection. If you're from the region, I think it's sometimes hard to understand why it would be interesting for someone from far away, but there you have it ...
  3. Good stuff. But why do people want to escape?
  4. Where are three places you want to visit at least once before you die? Places previously visited are fine! Oh, I can't wait to see what you all post!!!!!!! As of now, mine are: South-central India. I'm still undecided about the exact location, but there are some parks south of Hyderabad that really interest me --- although, on the coast, Goa also fascinates me. Carpathian mountains. I've been interested in some of the quieter regions of eastern Europe for a long time. There are still bears and wolves in the Carpathians. Bewdley, England. Personal reasons. Obsessed.
  5. I think it was simply London-centric media hysteria at people in the Midlands displaying a most unSouthern sort of thing: passion.
  6. Four years ago, when the poll started, yes. Today, yes.
  7. So is that the reason there is no Team GB? Incredible to think that the country that invented AF isn't fielding a team. The reasons are quite understandable though. Undermining the legitimacy of the four home nations is a genuine concern. Yes, I hear you. The curious case of Team GB is obviously a complicated nest of issues. I think the ironies of it are pretty interesting though, although I can see why Britons would find it dull.
  8. I don't really understand the situation. What's the thing that's bothering you?
  9. Would not want to be a Sunderland fan right now. They are a shambles.
  10. So is that the reason there is no Team GB? Incredible to think that the country that invented AF isn't fielding a team.
  11. Wow Didn't realise! Doh! Perhaps change thread name to Demise of Team GB?
  12. So little love for Team GB. It's a little over a year to the 2016 Olympics in Rio, and this strange concatenation of disparate players that is Team GB seems to get so little affection or attention. What's the deal? [uPDATE: SEE BELOW. LINK WAS TO OLD TEAM - APOLOGIES ] It's an interesting group with some amazing players, but I can't help wonder about some of the notable absences, too. (Tried to find a thread on this and couldn't -- moderators, be my guest of merging if there's a Team GB thread I missed.)
  13. They seem to fall to pieces if you can unsettle their midfield defensive base and trip them up a bit. They start losing possession, missing passes, giving away free kicks, etc etc. I feel someone like Jack Grealish would be really good at harrying them, but I don't know if he's back or will be given a chance.
  14. He's like a lot of England players over the last 10 years, comes across like an utter dick, over paid, overrated, the media here wank themselves silly over him, he's had some shocking tackles and dives in his career but got away from any criticism, he's under performed for England, got away with punching a bloke, personally I never believed any of the Chelsea stuff either, him and agent engineered a huge pay rise in the name of "loyalty" So now you're shipping him to us? Thanks a lot. And people give us Americans stick about not loving / supporting our local MLS teams! We're the career graveyard.
  15. As I said, those comments were cherry-picked. There were some nice comments, too. I think many still do ...
  16. A sampling (admittedly cherry-picked) of recent Swansea City forums ... Aston Villa Away on 22:37 - Mar 3 with 770 views ImAlrightJack Hope you guys do that, as I won't ever be at that joke of a ground , filled with toss**s constantly living off a European Cup they won while Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet were in the charts.... Aston Villa Away on 10:30 - Mar 4 with 678 views swanskid95 Not sure if anybody remembers but a Swansea fan apparently stabbed a Villa fan outside a pub near villa park last season, remember seeing a few Swans fans getting a rested, Villa fans went crazy over social media calling us murderers ect that night. Aston Villa Away on 10:41 - Mar 15 with 44 views LeonisGod Aston Villa Away on 01:20 - Mar 15 by builthjack 2-0 to us Hope so. Get stuck into them and they still look shaky at the back. I just hope Garry doesn't look at their pace and decide to camp us on the edge of our 18 yd box again. Aston Villa Away on 22:03 - Mar 3 with 778 views ImAlrightJack I wouldn't go there if you paid me. Sh*t ground and fans. Would rather turn the clock back and visit highfield road. Aston Villa Away on 22:08 - Mar 3 with 761 views ImAlrightJack Aston Villa Away on 22:04 - Mar 3 by builthjack Sounds like you have history with them Well, I can't stand their constant escapes from relegation threats and one of their supporters stalked one of my best friends for 3 years. He did this with constant text messages with no replies amongst other methods. Also, David Cameron and Prince William are Villaites. So there you go ...
  17. Yeah that's what I was getting at. The Normans were Viking settlers weren't they? Yes.
  18. And for that randomly interesting and interestingly random insertion of the word "death," I thank you.
  19. Glenfiddich 1937? Haha. If it was rare and Scottish, it would be something like, "Sconesober."
  20. My surname is related to a colour, although it's complicated. My surname is rare and Scottish.
  21. I hope we ... score early dominate the midfield -- sneak in behind Swansea's exploit Swansea's weaker right side do more crosses than usual and boss the aerial game
  22. I actually think Sinclair and Gabby bagging a few - forced him to up his game - after all he couldn't blame service if the other strikers are banging them in.... No question to me that that's it. A penalty and two goals against a pub squad hasn't convinced me yet. But I remain perfectly persuadable! I like the pragmatism of this comment!
  23. interesting quote from Benteke Yeah, that's great and all, but It's going to take more goals against difficult opponents before Tekkers has real cred with me.
