I picked Laursen, he may not have played many games but you can see how good a signing he is. I really like watching Davis play and praise him a lot, but Laursen was the missing ingredient in our defense - if he and mellberg were at the back all season I think we would find ourselves a fair bit higher.

True TRL and fair point ian, but then again Hitz hasnt had an extended run in the team and been used to playing for a full 90. We have plenty of CMs at the moment, so even if Hitz is there just to play a half then he is a good option and a threat to the other team.

Yes - he is definitely not just a one trick pony in my opinion, which is why other teams want to sign him and why he is in the German national team. And even if he is, if the trick he does is score long range goals every now and again, then that is worth having.

The latter, its obvious that we dont really need Faye and DOL isnt exactly stupid - I think that DOl stopped this because of the emergence of Berson, and so the money there can be spent elsewhere.

Ive gone for 5th-8th : I really cant see us getting any lower, regardless of what happens. JPAs knee is a bit of a worry yeah Jon, but we could do with Ryu to tell us whats going on because he usually knows everything JPA-related. We do need another holding midfieeelder, and will probably get one so that isnt a worry. And if Ollie or Laursen get injured, we have Ridgewell - who is looking like he could be a very good player, and more likely than not we'll be getting Drobny on a season long loan or something. Things should be good this year!

I disagree with Laursen to be honest - he is an established international defender and as Scandinavians mostly do well in the English leagues, I think a very sound purchase indeed. I mean we did buy him from one of the best teams in the world.

thank fook for that Rob!! Its surprising that Brady didnt ask specifically for Carlton Cole - im sure he'd be up for doing some films with her, to fund the next transfer. But then Gold and Sullivan probably saw more potential with animal-porn, so promptly snapped up the quickest available donkey. -

Well as I said Norway, im not calling for Vassell out - just saying that out of all those lot he would be a bit more replacable. We do need to get a 3rd striker, to keep competition tight in order to avoid any sort of complacency - because as ive said many times, the front 2 pick themselves.
