Too right. I would love it for him to come back with his tail between his legs and tell us that he had changed his mind about joining us and for Villa to tell him we had done the same about wanting to sign him. If he does pass a medical Fulham need to handcuff him to a desk in case another club come in for him that he might fancy playing for!

It would be bad enough if Bryan had walked out on an all but done deal to sign for anyone but for it to be Fulham.... They are rapidly becoming one of my most disliked teams and Bryan now finds himself sandwiched somewhere between Unsworth and the slithering snake amongst the list of players that I dislike with a passion. We should at the very least send "Turncoat Bryan" the bill for the expenses we incurred in connection with his aborted transfer to us.
  3. I'm sure you will have no problems in The Scottish Stand as many of us who sit in it prefer to call it. Hope your kids get to see two wins.

I must have a case of deja vu...
  5. Perhaps if Spurs had wanted Jack they should have made an acceptable bid for him. Really pleased that our owner has grown fed up of the so called ongoing talks between our club and that penny pinching Levy which have ended up with nothing other than a derisory bid. He is so right to tell them and everyone else that Aston Villa can no longer be treated as mugs now that the new owners are in town. The ball is now in Jack's court Levy, Sky, the London press and the twitter twits expect Jack to push for his so called dream move but they fail to see that our Jack is already living the dream by playing first team football for his football club. Get us up this season Jack and your international and PL ambitions can be met here. It really would not seem right to us fans and I suspect to Jack himself to see him holding up a Spurs shirt during this window after this.
  6. Many thanks for taking the time to give us your appraisal of John McGinn. We know how you must feel about losing John as have been going through the same thing with our Jack. It will be with us that John gets his chance to shine in the PL in a season or two. Best of luck to the Hibees for the season!
  7. I was thinking of the Beach Boys track rather than any so called rival forum. Do we have any rivals in any case? I can't think of any. We are the Roman Forum of forums.
  8. It's really like trying to get blood out of a stone with Levy isn't it? This would be closer but not close enough for me. I would tell him £32m rising to £35m with a 25% sell on clause and that buy back option. I would also really love it if he is getting impatient and annoyed with us because that's how we feel about him!
  9. We're following the Burnley rule of signing all of the goalkeepers. They have Pope, Heaton and Hart as well now.
  10. If Jack was playing for Hibs he would still be class. The same could well prove to be the case with their player certainly their fans who see him play regularly rate him very highly. I hope we complete the deal so we can see whether we share their opinion at the end of the season.

If he chooses Boro then he's welcome to them. Perhaps Pulis is holding his family hostage if not I don't see any reason that he would pick them over us. I look forward to him holding up our shirt soon along with a few others who are on the verge of joining us it seems.
  12. Hopefully not, but if Jack does go then we will then need someone to wear the shirt that he once wore. Jack's are big boots to fill but we would need to get behind those who still play for us should he leave. His possible departure should not get in the way of our being happy to see new players coming in who might in time make a big impression on us. The football club needs to keep moving forward I hope with Jack but if he chooses to go then without him.
  13. Looks like he is also familiar with the sort of treatment that Jack gets in the EFL from opponents.
  14. I see that it was Steve Bruce that signed him from Hereford.
  15. He could always stay with us and get his international games in playing for Ireland.
  16. Indeed, but I guess Southgate would still have the same opinion about Jack playing outside of the top flight now which is annoying because there can be players outside of it that are worth a look at such as Jack and Sessegnon both were last season. It is not as if he is spoilt for choice and playing game after game in the EFL may help develop a young player more than a Carabao Cup game or two and the odd substitute appearance in the PL.
  17. Jack looked like he thought he would have a decision to make before the transfer window slams shut last night. I'm not so sure because the manager, owners and fans want him to stay and I don't think Levy wants him enough to bid the sort of money that he would need to in order for Jack to have to ask himself "should I stay or should I go now?" The grass is not always greener and he would not have the fans so firmly behind him elsewhere. I think back to Bruce Rioch's transfer all those years ago when he left us on good terms because we didn't then look like a club that could match his ambitions in the short term at least. Jack has time on his side he can fulfil his playing ambitions with us, it might take a year or two for us to but the heights but I suspect he might regret not being along for the ride if he does choose to leave us given he gets that choice to make.
  18. Southgate needs to keep his nose out of this. You would think he had never played for us before he chose to leave us for the big time and the bright lights of Middlesbrough...
  19. Bruce also giving the fans a last chance to try to help persuade him to stay?
  20. Thanks for that. It seems he is their Jack and Celtic are trying to do to them what Spurs have been trying to do to us over the fee. There was a time when successful teams needed a Scot in their midfield to make it tick. We signed Des Bremner from them if he does half as well with us and brings us anywhere near the sort of success this could be some deal if we can get it over the line.
  21. Time for us to make a cheeky bid for him as well as Abraham then.
  22. Two points more than we picked up at Hull last season and the chance to make a very good start to this season and to get into a winning habit. We got an important first win with the players we had tonight and reinforcements that are on their way can improve us. Came back from a goal down showing more than a bit of character in doing so. We have a 100% record at this early point of the season let's try to keep it for a few weeks or even for a couple of months.
  23. I had been hoping that we would sign Barry Douglas who went to Leeds. I had guessed we could not afford to do that deal a few days ago, if we had wanted to. It seems we may have had Joe as a target back then and can now find more money for what is a younger alternative. Good news but I hope the money is being found from a source other than Spurs.
