    Revels

I love them all, and currently hold the Wearside and district record for fettling a family pack in the time it takes to get from Sunderland to Peterlee on the A19. If push came to shove, I'd evict the caramel one, if only because it takes longer to eat, and therefore increases the time taken to get the rest of them down my neck. They got rid of the nut one after all the nut-allergy thing became apparent. You know, the old joke about playing Russian Roulette with a packet of revels and someone with a nut allergy.
  2. I was at the Wyre Forest Glades when Princess Di opened it, and as a result was on midlands today running into the pool with dozens of other kids. My dad once taught Harriers ledge Paul 'Ocker' Davis. When 'roadying' (basically ligging) for my brother's band at a Festival, I watched England vs Ecuador at the 2006 World Cup with various members of Depeche Mode, and numerous 'celebs' such as Peaches Geldof. There were loads of others about too mind, not just me, the Mode and Peachie, as I now call her. A mate of mine had the best one I ever heard. His cousin, Nige once punched Engelburt Humperdink over a parking dispute in Leicester. Caught him right in the tache apparently
  3. Where are they from again? I'm sure someone once told me they're from the West Coast of America, but I'm not sure which state. If only they'd mention it in a song, my question would be answered.
  4. The Police were toss, even if Copeland is an excellent drummer. The Clash were brilliant and make me wish I was older that about 3 when they were in their pomp. Can't see why the two should be compared directly though. Just cos they were about at the same sort of time? What next? Dead Kennedys and Abba?
  5. Can't stand either, but even I can see Aphex Twin are in a different league.
  6. Love them both, but in terms of musicianship and originality, it's Maiden all the way.
  7. Bonzo for me. Mel Gaynor would be a worthy addition to the poll.
  8. Lib Dems. Don't trust Labour anymore, and Cameron is a PR man, not a leader. Clegg seems like a genuine bloke and the only viable alternative really.
  9. Aye, The Beatles for a start :winkold:
  10.         Well, those are my thoughts and opinions. And tbh, I stick to them. I meant what I wrote. Or perhaps you mean that they were not even decent? You are entiltled to your opinions, of course - but The Beatles changed everything, they amount to more than just having a decent Greatest Hits album, surely???! Fair play if thats your opinion though - out of interest who would you hold up as being one of the best bands ever? I didn't respond initially as I honestly thought he was being ironic. As for his best band, I think the avatar might give it away. Ironic really, in that they truly are a band who has released a decent greatest hits album, but that's about it
  11. i disagree and raise you "Ob la di ob la da" (as i personally think this could have been written by black lace) Nah, quality stuff that has given hope to barrow boys named Desmond the world over
  12. The Beatles, although only just, because every song they wrote (barring Octopus' Garden) was wonderful. For all their genius, The Beach Boys had more than the odd duffer. How anyone can get bored with the Beatles amazes me. I never tire of listening to Rubber Soul or Revolver - albums that changed music forever. That said, seeing Brian Wilson at Glasto was the finest gig experience of my life. Don't Worry Baby and God Only Knows were just magical and gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes and those of everyone around me. I remember turning around, seeing the whole crowd singing along joyfully with the sun shining and thinking to myself 'It doesn't get any better than this.' Magical - and that was with his new band. I can only imagine what seeing the original line up would be like.
  13. Zep all the way. Always thought The Who, while a perfectly decent band, were vastly overrated. And Moon wasn't fit to lace Bonzo's drinks. Nah, that's slightly harsh - I just wanted to get a drink lacing gag in. They are both head and shoulders above other rock drummers, but Bonham was better IMO. The power and control the big lad had was astonishing. And no-one in Zep has ever been up before the beak for 'book-research'.
  14. Hotel Illness - The Black Crowes. "Oh good heavens baby, where is my medicine." What a belter
  15. Well said. It sounds like we are roughly the same age (I'm maybe a bit older) and I feel the same way. And the man we have to thank for getting good (and maybe great)players to play with enough desire and passion to turn them into heroes? Step forward Martin O'Neill.
  16. Off the pitch is one thing. The Old Firm can and does get very nasty off the pitch, in a different city, in a different country.
  17. Aye, OK BOF, I'll give you that. The South Americans like a 'do'. Fluminese - Flamengo is pretty hardcore too from what I understand. So I'll change that to Europe, not the world. And I don't think Barca - Real has enough real hatred behind it to top the weegies. IMO of course - I can only speak from experience. I'm sure our Spanish correspondants may advise differently.
  18. No chance. The North East Derby is the most intense in English football and I'd argue is only beaten by the Glasgow in terms of intensity in the world. And that has hardly lacked intensity despite them playing each other at least 4 times a season, has it? I agree about the North London and others though, and regular games have caused this dip. But Mackems and Geordies hatred is in a different league in my experience.
  19. United. Give me a Northern champions every time.

    Best Bond

Oi loike Led Zeppelin. They'm the best bond.
  21. Spot on for me Ian, on all three points. My Barnsley supporting mates are in dream world. Youuuuu reddddds!!
  22. How either of these abominations can be described as good old pop music is beyond me. Utter shite. I've just finished listening to Don't You Worry Bout A Thing - Stevie Wonder. Now THAT, is good, and old, and pop music.
