  7. Just edited it to get some facts straight, didn't know he'd started the other games so just asked family how they thought he was getting on. General report is he's playing well with Garner, and Garner is THE MAN at that club right now, so if you're complimenting him as a striker and playing alright yourself, you will be staying in the side, so he's doing everything right at the moment
  8. Thought I'd give an update, as I was saying before family all Preston fans so easy to keep tabs. Tonight is his 3rd start in a row for them since the loan was extended to January. He's playing well and has scored a good goal to put Preston ahead tonight in league 1 vs Leyton Orient. His issue, as I said previously, I thought would be the form of Joe Garner who is a good player who knows the level and is banging them in this season. However they seem to be playing well up front together which is only a good thing for us, as it means he's learning to play with a good goalscoring striker rather than a Kevin Davies "hoof and head" football They have 2 games in hand, this one being the first, because of internationals so there will be a lot of games between now and January, so I would expect him to be the guy to be relied on when the other strikers need a rest over the coming weeks. Lots of midweek games and they are about to play 4 away games in a row I'm sure a lot of people, with everything that's going on, would say that he could do a better job here than what we have due to our situation. This may be true, but i personally think the best thing this lad can do at the moment is stay as far away from our club as possible. Preston are a good club and on the up. Good coaching staff and don't exactly play the best football but play effective and fast football and know how to keep possession and hold onto leads. Very professional outfit and a good place to be
  9. Should ask Southampton to have him. They know how to treat good young players. Let him go before we ruin another promising player
  10. I admitted to it on the first page. It takes skill, dedication and hard work to get it this wrong this many times and keep your job. If it cheers any of you guys up (it did me) I've just received stick from a Cov fan and a Blues fan. Just laughed in their faces. I wouldn't pipe up about football in our situation, they should be embarrassed to consider mocking villa
  11. "In terms of the general game, I couldn't fault that. I think that's the most we've had the ball possession wise but that's why I'm not really one for stats. "The main stat is putting the ball in the net and keeping it out. "I thought we defended poorly for the two goals and I think we've got to be more clinical in the last third of the pitch. "The two goals were disappointing because we had most of the ball. "Coming here I always knew it was going to be a tough game and I was pretty pleased with the way we had the ball and what we were doing with it. "But we had to be more clinical in the final third of the pitch. "I thought the two goals we lost were shocking especially when we were on top. "I set the team out to go and attack and try and win the game. We had a lot of the ball and looked comfortable with it. "To lose those goals, that's the thing that's probably given me the most disappointment."
  12. Surprised he hasnt been highlighted for any stick. My Dad is a big Preston fan so he's enjoying football at the moment when im ready to take a break from it. He reckons there is a negative force at the club which has effected the players dramatically in the last few weeks. And lies the blame solely at Keane's feet. I can't disagree with him tbh. Can't be the best guy to have around at a time like this. Great when winning I'd imagine and great for international teams so he's not around week in week out. When the going gets tough he makes it even tougher
  13. There's a quote in a Rise Against song from a movie I dont know that mocks this point. "What you don't understand is that it's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees" "But you have it backwards? It's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees" Completely off topic but I thought I'd throw that in. I don't see how the quote relates to a manager of a football club anyway but I like it.
  14. He is a good player. I think the players that have left us after looking terrible under Lambert prove that its not the players fault. If Martinez wants you, you're a good player
  15. Is there anybody left on the forum defending him? For me, i feel that most villa fans, after a long sit down and a cup of tea, would be happy enough to say that Lambert is a good manager. He just happens to be a bad manager for us for whatever reason that is. Because of this, he needs to leave and get his reputation repaired elsewhere. Meanwhile we'd almost be better off managerless. Let Lambert go, let the backroom staff go and leave the club in disarray until some lunatic decides buying our club is a good idea We genuinely are a complete mess. I bet even Newcastle fans would chuckle at our situation
  16. Desperate times. To be fair, getting Pulis in now to get us playing well and keep us from relegation only for him to walk out at the end of the season when we're in a stronger position and can attract a better continental manager sounds like a pretty good deal right about now. He wouldn't walk out. He'd laugh down the phone at whoever calls him to query if he's interested. At this point I'd potentially be looking at Simon Grayson or Karl Robinson. They are clearly good managers who should be given a chance, unlike Lambert who has been so many chances its not even funny. He's broken records I hadn't even thought about let alone worried would be smashed.
  17. Just another record for Lambert to smash Just joking!! Doesn't feel like a joke anymore....
  18. Please can people think about Pulis and how he walked out of Palace?! I still haven't forgiven O'Neill. I don't want that pretentious dicksplash anywhere near Villa
  19. RT @bbc5live: FT QPR 2 Aston Villa 0. #QPR get their 2nd win of the season but #AVFC slump to their 5th straight defeat. http://t.co/HPZPUO…

  20. Gave Clark man of the match because it must be hard to be that shit week in week out. The same for Lambert
  21. Thank god we gave Lambert a new contract to reward the long term progress we've seen. That performance, after the last 90+ performances, would be enough reason for any amateur club to try take him from us
  22. Well at least we've got that game out the way! Was dreading the mighty Queens Park **** Rangers game

I refuse to blame any of our players for being bad until I see them under a different manager. Except Clark. Clark is definitely terrible. He is a lost cause

I hate to say this, and haven't said it (unless as a joke) since he came. But I want Lambert to have left this club before we play Spurs. We have a group of players that would be good enough for midtable teams. Its not the shirt they are wearing, its the man telling them what to do and how to set up
