  1. Confirming what OhioVilla has said on the previous page: http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2012/08/03/aston-villa-randy-lerner-set-to-finalise-sale-of-cleveland-browns-for-over-1-billion-97319-31539209/]Birmingham Mail
  2. Glad Clark has the number 6, hoping we see him back at CB with Vlaar. Could be a dream partnership
  3. I really don't want to see Ireland leave. At times last season he was the only shining light we had, yes he's on big wages but I think this is his season to show us what he's made of. 1 more season and then review his position in the team. From pre-season it looks like he's playing with a smile on his face once again and that can only be good for our club... I hope!
  4. Taken from this mornings Daily Mail - We can only hope! here
  5. More from the Ipswich Star today saying PJ is in a dilemma as to follow up interest on Cresswell's replacement http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/transfer_latest_george_friend_deal_dependent_on_any_sale_of_aaron_cresswell_1_1460580

  8. Thank god for that! Sitting in the Middle Trinity next to the current Holte screen is a right pain... Checking replays keeping an eye on other scores and having to turn away from the action! Ok granted it didn't matter last season  but at least it will be back in it's place for Everton. Looks like with the World Cup failed bit, economy and shrinking crowds the big man upstairs have used his head and isn't going to waste the money!
  9. Just read this on avfc.co.uk - it's a very simple change as stated in the reports but thinking about it why has the home dugout always been the clostest to the tunnel :!: Source: Here
  10. Can't see how they will stay as CH is taking his backroom with him. Just wouldn't make logical sense. Why would Culverhouse want to share being a 2nd assistant - it'snt that also underminding his ability and what he's done to come in and then say yes you're staying but I'm bringing in another also?!? Time will tell I guess
  11. Love it and after not having a shirt since the last Acorns / Nike version I may just have to get my hands on one! Can't wait to see the potential "Green" away kit may even get that for the shear hell of it!
  12. It looks set to be a modern classic! Shame Acrons aren't on the front.
  13. I reckon the away kit will be white with blue trim - if you watch the behind the scenes video and then at 9 seconds in the badge shown is on a white top behind the claret home top
  14. Link: http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2793911,00.html The Club regrets to confirm that Paul Lambert has offered his resignation from his position as Norwich City Manager. We have fought hard to keep Paul at Norwich City and have not accepted his resignation whilst discussions with another club are taking place. However, whatever happens, we want to place on record our sincere gratitude for everything Paul has done for the Club over the last three fantastic seasons. When Paul joined us in August 2009 we were in 66th position in the English football pyramid and the Club was on the brink of financial meltdown.

  16. 1/10 with Skybet and just to say Shay has very poor poker face when quized on PL
  17. Sky have said the belive he did resign but Norwich didn't except his resignation and Norwich are also refusing to comment. Source: Sky Sports reporter Fraizer Campbell
  18. Taken from Neil Moxley's report in the Daily Mail - PL leaving the Norwich training ground this moring... Would love to see the postcode on his satnav http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2152360/Paul-Lambert-quits-Norwich-head-Aston-Villa.html
  19. Just to back up the Sky reporter outside Norwich, Sky are now running the Shay report http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7788573/Given-would-welcome-Lambert ************** Shay Given believes Paul Lambert would be 'a great appointment' for Aston Villa were he to be handed the club's managerial reins. It is understood that Lambert's representatives are meeting with Villa Park officials on Thursday to discuss their vacant post. Numerous names have been linked with the role in the wake of Alex McLeish's dismissal at the end of a forgettable 2011/12 campaign, but Lambert is considered to be the leading candidate. He is currently in charge of Norwich, a side he has guided to back-to-back promotions and cemented in the Premier League during his time at Carrow Road. The Scot has made no secret of his ambition and Villa hope they can convince him to take on the challenge of turning their fortunes around. Targets Given would like to see Lambert at the helm by the time he returns from Euro 2012 duty with the Republic of Ireland, with the experienced keeper urging his domestic employers to make an appointment as quickly as possible. "If that's the case - I have no idea because I'm stuck in Italy somewhere and don't know what's going on at Aston Villa - but if Paul was to come in, it would be a great appointment because he's a fantastic manager," Given told Sky Sports News HD. "At every club he's been at he's been going up all the time so, hopefully if they can get that done today, it would be great news for the club. "The sooner the manager is in place for next season the better because there will be targets and players he wants to get in himself. The sooner that's done the better. " **************
  20. If PL is in talks with RL or infact RL discusing with NCFC it's nice to see we're doing things the correct way. Do your business behind closed doors and bring it into the public domain when you have something to announce. We all know what the UK press are like.... sigh! Last year we had our fingers burnt thanks to a certain Wigan chairman and he's been up to his old party tricks once again this summer. Also reading a report that Martinez phoned Villa a few days ago saying his interest was conctrete only to be told thanks but no thanks, you had your chance would make my day if true! RL is not mug if this is the case and just makes a mockery of trash talking Whelan!
  21. Had my season ticket for 18 years now and will be renwing regardless of who's manager. We've always left it to the last minute, not for any particular reason just beacuse I suppose. The club have never offered an incentive (that I can remember) in all of my 18 years as a season ticket holder to renew early and £10 is hardly here nor there in relation. To be honest I think RL should of frozen them for the forthcoming season after the drivel we've been served, still AVFC is a business as well as our club and in tough times with the club posting losses every little counts. All I care anout is getting my backside on my seat for every home game possible.
