  1. With Lerners cost cutting, I wouldn't be surprised if injured players are sent to the local A&E or Boots chemist
  2. I thought he'd be back for the Palace game? The way Pulis teams play and us not having Vlaar, I personally can't see us getting 3 points. Baker and Herd are liabilities under the high ball
  3. No wonder he kisses Lerners ass with that stat
  4. I agree. I know this sounds crazy but I actually think relegation would help the club in terms of creating a better style of football and a winning mentality.Surely its not rocket science playing better football. You have a manager who wants to play a certain way and he signs players to play that style and who are good enough to play that style. Agree 100% How on earth would it help? It 100% wouldnt. But thats the road its heading. If we play the way we played against Fulham we wont get a single point out of the next 4 games. Make that 3 games now. I think we could get relegated and I never really thought that last year.
  5. We have balanced the books. Theres no eventually about it. Its happened. Depends what u mean regarding balancing the books. We still owe him 130 mill. He won't be able to sell as he won't get his money back. We are stuck with him unfortunately. What I don't understand is how allot of people were sticking up for him all week and saying we could do allot worse and now have totally done a complete U-turn. And u know as Villa fans what we are going to do about Lerner? Feck all that's what I don't understand finance. Why do we owe him money? Caused he loaned his own company money. I know crazy

  7. I think shawcrsoss is injured today. Kozac could do damage if Bentekke is out
  8. Im out on my own with this one as all my mates think he is poor. I think he has something that you cant train and he is going to be quality. Just remember Zidane wasnt extremely fast and didnt come good to around 24-25. Not that he will be that good but just making a point.
  9. Poor Lambert must have had some shitty chairmen as he's also just stated Lerner is No 1: http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~3585921,00.html He's basically saying there won't be any significant funds and then states Lerner is excellent. Sicken ya, going on about Lerner watching every match crap. Kiss assing at its best there.
  10. Well have we ever had a really good record at buying players in general? I always thought liverpool took the piss out of DD back in the day.
  11. Lambert was always number one choice. Lerner would have found it hard to break his number one rule "premiership experience" I imagine. Was he. I always thought it was OGS and he decided to stay put
  12. OGS on his way to West Brom. Wonder if he regrets turning us down now. Least we got Lambert. Think he was the better of the two
  13. I winge about Lerner a lot (and I do still think it is somewhat justified) but your post really puts it all into perspective. I guess in the grand scheme of things and in the context of what 'owning a football club' has become, Lerner is one of the best in the PL I get your point, but i always have and always will believe we are a bigger club than Fulham, blackburn, Cardiff, stoke, west ham, sunderland. Its a sad state of affairs when we are comparing ourselves with these teams and is a state of where Mr Lerner has left us. We used to be talked about in the same breath as Arsenal, Liverpool and Utd
  14. I hope you're right about a reason for Lambert leaving Norwich for us. However, I do have my doubts and wonder if it was a case of knowing that he'd gone has far as he could with the Canaries and fancied a new challenge with a club that had an average attendance twice the size of where he was at previously. I always wonder why Lambert left Norwich as well. Had to be on a promise from lerner. Dont buy the twice size crap. Managers only look 2-4 years ahead and what they can do in that time frame. If he was told he had a shoe string budget for 4 years then i dont think he would have come. Could be hope, but i think come the summer he will have a wedge of money to spend like never before seen at Villa
  15. Not really, u go on form. Arsenal was first game of season. Fulhams performance is reflective of our recent performances

  17. When Gardner fully fit. Has he had any inhouse games under his belt yet. Hopefully he will replace the likes of Sylla
  18. But these are PL players now! Why out of 16 players has PL chosen not to buy a creative player? He's bought Helenius, Tonev, Bennett, Bowery and KEA who are at best squad fillers and their absence would not be noted. We are better but still not great defensively but this seems to be at the expense of possession and passing? because you cant buy fillet steak with value mince money .....and you've no responded to my earlier post regarding your plan to operate for two seasons with a 15 man squad Well maybe that's the reason why most of us are so frustrated! We should have the money for fillet steak it's only because Lerner has ruined our club by pissing money up the wall on rubbish players and rubbish managers over the past few years that we are buying value mince. I looked at your LONG answer yes maybe 4 players would have been a little to light but I think our current Premier League squad is bolstered to the 25 with a few youth players who have never played for the first team and you haven't counted them. Plus having looked at some of the transfers over the past few seasons for my £10m we could have got a Cabeye, Ben Arfa, Yacob and Figeroua OK we would have blown the ridiculous wages budget but hey-ho! If Lerner wants a Premier League team on Championship wages then he's more of a fool than I thought. not defending him here, just trying to put things in perspective if I may ....which player did Lerner buy? I know you think you're joining in with the debate but you're really not If your wife gives you £1 to get some shopping, does she complain when you come back with mince not steak If you've only got money for mincethats what you buy . No but if she kept giving me £1 and had a Shit load to buy clothes with etc i wouldnt stay around long
  19. Well is that not progression in a roundabout way?
  20. Nuremberg, with 3 likes too Brumstopdogs There's a rush on. Perhaps the mods should start a poll! Poll, Poll, Poll..... Lerner out for me
  21. The books are balanced. We will know what the plan is this summer. I suspect that the plan is still the same, i.e. spending small transfer fees on low wage, lower league and low quality players in the hope they are a small improvement on the ones we already have. The whole idea of lower the wage bill is to keep it low not to raise it back up. We are being run into the ground by a bunch half wits. Yeah, that we are. What as Villa fans are we going to do about it. Nothing, thats what!
  22. Couldnt have said it better.
