    he makes terrible decisions almost every week. I have never seen a manager make so many selection and tactic mistakes in my life. The hyperbole on this thread, highlighted by this post, is hilarious. It is okay for something to just be okay. Not everything has to be "brilliant" or "the worst I have ever seen." There is some middle ground, and Lambert's performance certainly falls squarely in it this season.

    On the current form of playing with Arsenal and Everton and beating West Ham? That feels like pretty good form to me. I bet you know we are playing fairly well too. It just does not fit the agenda.

    We'll do well to beat Newcastle in the run-in seeing as we aren't playing them . I have it as NC on my schedule. I guess that is Norwich then? Even better.

    I actually think our path to 40 points is fairly clear. We need 4 wins against Reading, QPR, Sunderland, Stoke, Fulham, Newcastle, and Wigan or 3 wins and some draws. That seems more than doable with the way we have been playing, especially considering we can pick up some extra points against Liverpool who we always play well or Chelsea in a game where they won't have much to play for and we will want some revenge. For the first time in a while, I actually feel decent about our survival chances. Either way, at least we aren't QPR.

    I've read some rubbish about Bennett in this thread but this one tops the lot. We spent 65% of the game in our half, there were no outlets for the back four meaning they all gave it away at some time in the game. Yep, but, as always, Villa fans get it in their head whether or not a player is good and then cannot help but view him through those glasses from then on. Bennett had a good game yesterday against a good to very good winger. That is the long and short of it.

    No one had us getting any points from this anyway. Good performance. On the substitution, I do not think any midfield sub would have made a difference. The only chance we had was to keep attacking, and it just did not work out.
