A win's a win. Players needed game time and fitness, and it was to see players like Traore starting. The fact that we created a lot of chances will hopefully give the squad some much needed confidence and a boost going into the game against Sunderland.

Stronger physically than Westwood and is a proper DM, has a good range of passing and reads the game well - could be good to see him and Gana play together in some games where the other team poses a more physical threat.

The fact that we've matched Palace so far is a big positive. I think we have the potential to do a lot better in the second half if Tim makes some changes.

It seems like he's delighted to play for us, which is great to see. He has a lot of time for the fans and I think he'll become a big player for us this season. I might get his name on the back of my Villa shirt - the last one was Laursen back in around 2008 and look how he turned out!

I just remember Smalling bouncing off Benteke.... that was a sight to behold. I'm sure that Gestede will be effective against other defenders. If you can play against cloggers in the Championship then the Premier League should be a bit more easier in a physical sense, although quite obviously defenders are more intelligent in the top flight, so it's up to Gestede to raise his game and I'm sure he will.

He'll be fine - he did pretty well against Palace but needs a bit more fitness and time before he can really shine. You can see he has something to offer.
