It's OK. Corcaigh has just conceded that we've sent plenty of them down there anyway Meaning less up here. I think he meant Dubs in general polluting the countryside Brian!! cough cough.... ahem :winkold:
  2. They are afraid they'll lose so their all hiding under their little rocks just like Glaston is! They'll be singing from the rooftops if they win in the morning though!

Your advice is about 5 years out of date. There's a distinct lack of 'Céad Míle Fáilte' these days in Galway. It's gone quite cynical and the pubs & clubs have bouncers stricter than anything you'll see in Dublin. As for the junkies in Dublin, that's precisely why I kept our visitor on the South side of the Liffey  Why I was up west just this past August for my holyers and i beg to differ with a lack of cead mile failte, maybe they just don't like the cut of your gib BOF eh? :winkold: Failing that everyone should bring their tourist dollars and come to West Cork, best of the lot of 'em in my unbiased opinion. A typical People's republican response!!! :winkold:

A quick bus ride. You'll have to get that bus into the city anyway. I'd imagine the number 4 would be your bus of choice.

Haven't had that myself recently at all. I normally just wander upstairs and buy a drink if I want one there or not.

If I'm around that weekend I'll pop in as well. Prolly won't make it over to VP with cutbacks etc!

Red Bull in a bar normally goes for 4 euro rising to 6 euro in some spots in Temple Bar. You could be talking about 8 euro for a Bacardi & Coke, again maybe more either!

Absolutely, you can find great pubs/clubs all over the city. But telling a stags not to go to Templebar is just baffling IMO. The Quays Bar, Farringtons, Fitzsimons, Bobs to name 4. Even Oliver St.John Gogarty's has it's moments (though it is the worst exponent of furrener-fleecing. I agree the Mezz is (or was) really good. Do they still do jazz nights? they do i think its on sundays/mondays now. They do a very good reggae night Wouldnt wish Fitzsimmons on my worst nightmare. Once paid 23 euros for 3 pints in there on a Wednesday That doesn't surprise me. The price of drink goes up there every half hour once it hits 11 o clock i think. You do pay ridiculous money. I agree with Brian though that you do get a good night even though you do pay for it and for people coming over for a stag I'm sure they're not into penny pinching for the weekend like us locals are. I would advise you to go to Temple Bar for one night and then spend the other nights in the other areas of the city where you will get a proper 'Irish' night out and not one that's loaded with foreigners and Irish people trying to make money out of them.

Kilmainham Gaol is also quite good culturally speaking. I only did the tour recently and thought it was well worth it. Its a bit out of the city centre though but if your there for 4 days, you could get it in. All about the 1916 rising and that kind of stuff. Also was in movies such as Michael Collins and U2 also shot one of their videos there.... You have to do the Guinness storehouse anyway. Free Guinness at the top which makes it all worthwhile.

Are you going to be there for a Villa game Dem? If so, get down to Murrays. Good banter in there with all of us Irish Villans!
  12. I honestly believe he will. They will pay him all the money in the world and lets face it they could do something like a Chelsea if he gets there. He seems to be able to motivate all the players and have them playing as a team rather than the individuals they currently are. I seriously hope I'm wrong as well because he could make them an unstoppable force. Mancini does not have a patch on him.
  13. This will be Mourinho's next challenge when he gets turfed out of Madrid in the Summer or leaves of his own accord.
  14. Guinness have the best marketing staff in the world. Every pub in Dublin was packed to the rafters last night purely because they made up a day out of thin air. The amount of Guinness drunk last night was unbelievable. 10 pints at the bar at all times queueing up to get poured. I'm suffering this morning as a result. Thank you Guinness.
  15. Do tell...I'm dying to know!! I'm guessing they're boxers with flairs. I'm guessing he means boxers that aren't 'figure hugging'
  16. GET IN ASHLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Just tell her you cant celebrate properly during the week so you will leave it to the weekend to make a good night of it!!! :winkold:
  18. Well its probably based on the Irish military so I might just book a few days off work anyway to cope with the Hangover! I fully expect endurance shot rounds!!!!
  19. Anyone ever done any of the military style fit camps? Starting one tonight so I will more than likely be in a hoop and a mess this time tomorrow morning.... Are they as bad as they look?
  20. We must be watching a different player because I think his crossing is brilliant! This is what I was about to say. His corssing is superb! a little inconsistent now because of his experience I would think. But when he gets it right (which is more often than Downing, that's for sure) it's excellent. Completely. His crosses are very dangerous. He gets them at great speed going across the box and always has defenders scrambling for them.... On Ireland, you could see that he makes some excellent runs through the middle during a game. It will take time for all around him to learn how he plays but I have a feeling that when they do, he will score a handful and be a real attacking threat for us.
