  1. Umm, maybe a good run of games now that he's had a full preseason behind him? So we can't comment on him until he's had a run of games this season? Does that go for praising him as well? Will you tell people who say he's good and is going to be good to wait till he's had a run of games? Remind me why you're so eager to criticize JIIM again?

  3. He was excellent in pre-season. Delivered on all the promise from the Old Trafford match. He still hasn't played a PL game this season, this judging him based on fleeting appearances last season is ridiculous.
  4. I put Bent as my captain earlier today...but when I checked to see he wasn't. It's a shame, he would've got me more points than the 9 he already gave me.
  5. Blackburn have a lot of injuries at the moment. I think this is the perfect game to give the Gardners of this world PL experience. Also, Makoun better start .
  6. Whoever had Kun Aguero in there team today are quite lucky indeed.
  7. Ash with a goal and an assist, hell yes! So glad I chose him over Nani. Edit: Meh, turns out it was an own goal. Sigh.
  8. I've got 2 players from the Everton, Spurs postponed match and Samba not playing due to injury, so that's 3 players with no points in my starting lineup *sigh*. A couple of my players got assists though, Jarvis and K.Davies. -------------------Given--------------------- Richards--Hangeland----Samba----Baines Ash--------Modric-------Mulumbu------Jarvis -------------Bent-----K.Davies--------------- Subs: Al Habsi, Enrique, Makoun, Odemwingie Edit: So it turns out that you can't get an assist if it took even the slightest of deflections before reaching the target. Which sadly rules out both of my assists.
  9. I don't know what it is about Post-Hardcore, but when done right; it's one of my favorite genres. Album is La Dispute's one and only.
  10. Just listened to this stellar piece of jazz fusion for the first time. I can already see this becoming one of my favorites. Gareth, that sounds like its similar to Biosphere. And I'm a huge Boards fan, so I'll definitely check that out.
  11. We do have someone like that. His name is Jean II Makoun.
  12. Pointing out the decision making of a useless manager doesn't really back anything up. Until replaced with better Petrov is the man who will play. Makoun could go either way and Ireland and the kids still have a lot to prove I'm not 'backing' anything up. Just pointing out an observation of a serious flaw in his game that really annoys me. Why are you getting so defensive, what are you his lawyer? I still think Petrov should start, but he needs to work on that, as he did when brought back into the fold. And btw, it is merely your opinion that Houllier is a 'usless manager' so that doesn't 'back anything up' either.
  13. I was watching a goals of the season program on tv today, and Kyle Walker's strike against Fulham was the first in at #40. Anyway, the build up to that goal highlighted Petrov's frustrating inability to make up his mind on the ball. He gets into wonderful positions to spray passes to players making runs, but after shuffling his feet for a few seconds, usually ends up passing back. It got really annoying last season, and Houllier dropped him for a couple of games in Feb because of it iirc.
  14. But we've seen a good few created against Walsall. What's your point? We've lost a pre-season friendly, not the first leg of the champions league semi-final.
  15. I'm pretty sure Delph started ahead of him.
  16. Going by some posters' logic, Liverpool is going to be relegated this season because they lost 3-0 to Hull.
  17. I doubt Gardner can play at DM. I thought he played mostly in an Ireland role in the reserves?
  18. I'm just waiting to see Delph and Makoun play together. I've got a feeling that would be the pairing that really clicks. Hopefully they start together tomorrow.
  19. He was dropped to the bench for a couple of games after the game at Old Trafford (Blackpool away immediately springs to mind) IIRC. This was also the game where he made a big fuss about being subbed, and Houllier told him to 'leave his ego in the dressing room'. I remember quite distinctly him being used sparingly around that time for the simple fact that he was so excruciatingly terrible in possession. Houllier did bring him back for the run in though, and he upped his game by that time. Seems he's falling back to his old habits though of late.
  20. One thing DM is right about, it's Petrov's infuriating indecision on the ball. He takes forever to make up his mind after getting into a good position, and people making runs. What does he finally end up doing? Giving it back to the CB's. Houllier saw this midway through the season last year, and dropped him accordingly. When he finally came back into the fold, he seemingly corrected this problem...only to fall back on it.
  21. Why do clubs keep bidding for Cameron freaking Jerome? You'd think that Fulham, a club that has Zamora, Dembele, Dempsey et al on their books would have no need for someone who adds so little even to Birmingham City.
  22. He'll still cost wages, which is the big issue for Villa. Other free options include Hargreaves, Der Hammer and M Diarra, and I'd prefer any of those. I knew someone was going to say that, and I was going to put "costs nothing but wages", but it looked a bit silly . I guess you're right though. I hope the board sort something out though. All it takes is a Cuellar or a Beye to leave, and we solve our midfield conundrum to some degree. This makes me even more disappointed that Micheal Bradley left. I really rated the dude.
