  1. That German paper should be mercilessly sued. A retraction and apology is not enough, they did their damage and they knew it. Another example of fake news, the way the term was intended before it got hijacked by Trump and his cult. They are the main consumers of fabricated news, and even when they find out it's fake they don't really care and continue to believe it. Fake news to them simply means news I don't agree with. It's all horrifyingly Orwellian.
  2. I feel no shame in admitting that I do this. All the time.
  3. Social media for all of it's nice social perks has turned out to be a complete scourge. Turned us into vapid, borderline sociopaths.
  4. Curiously checked out Obama's last press conference to see the difference and my god. 1:50 really stood out as a stark contrast to what we witnessed yesterday.
  5. He completely Conway'd that question. Also he can't seem to finish a thought without launching into another.
  6. The President of the United States. It is just surreal.
  7. Did he actually say Iran is the world's top sponsor of terrorism with a straight face? Barely 5 minutes in and this is incredible.
  8. Can we talk about how he had a heavy, wrestling intro-esque song play as he walked into the room. Sounded like a Dragonball Z soundtrack. He really is President Camacho come to life
  9. Man, you really gotta be on top of ur players' contracts and actively renew otherwise they'll get snapped up by other teams for free. I found out the hard way, losing Cresswell for nothing, now I only have 1 LB.
  10. Martial is the spiritual successor to Embolo.
  11. Lambert's results picked up by mid January 2013 and from there he had the best form of his career with us until the end of that season. December 2012 low as it was, wasn't the start of a nosedive.
  12. Arsenal seem to be stuck in some weird time loop. Their season pans out the exact same way every year. Even the teams who beat them in the first knockout round are always the same, it's always either Bayern or Barca It's probably going to be 5-1 yet again too Arsenal fans forever feeling deja vu
  13. I've been so out of the loop when it comes to football ever since Villa were relegated, watching this game felt like stepping out of a time machine. Ancelotti at Bayern, when did that happen. Hummels at the back I knew about but completely forgot about.
  14. I think it's more that people were so fed up with Lambert, and Sherwood came in and gave an immediate relief and was a fresh of breath air as well as giving us a memorable semifinal. People look back on that fondly I guess. But if you were to look at it objectively, I can't see how he's not our worst manager. If say only Di Matteo comes close.
  15. Sounds like a threat. Edit: and the irony is that grievance fueled right wing sjws obsessed with identity politics are already in power. Maybe it's not irony and he knows that.
  16. Didn't even realize we played last night. Another loss, what the hell? 6 losses in 7 now, how does that even happen after the start he's made?
  17. It definitely is. Doesn't make Sherwood not a fraud though unfortunately. He had the nerve to turn down other PL jobs before us if you recall and didn't even bother with Fulham in the Championship I think it was.
  18. Uhh yes, yo're not born with the ability to coach. Seriously does this even need to be asked?
  19. I did say it was easily the best game of the past 6 years. But then it was followed by easily the worst game of the past 6 years in the next round which pretty much cancels it out. He had a nice little run at the start of his tenure for sure (but his league form wasn't even that impressive, 5 wins from 13...or 7 losses from 13 depending on how you want to look at it), but was an utter car crash not soon after, and that's after being given the funds he needed to reshape the squad and pretend like he knew about French football. 9 losses out of 10, don't think even Garde got close to being that bad, he was easily in a class of his own. Also can we take a moment to remember how he didn't even have his coaching badges before he became manager. Of Aston Villa Football Club. In the Premier League. The man was our Donald Trump.
  20. Bruce literally just a month or 2 ago, 7 wins from 11 and only 2 losses? Lambert at the end of his first season, 6 wins from 13? Houllier's run of 7 wins from 16 to stay up at the end of the season including wins at the Emirates and thrillers like the West Ham game was a nice too. And we haven't won 3 in a row in the league since the MON days, so I'm assuming you're including cup games in that. So like I said, take out the cup game and it's the exact same thing. Actually some of the runs I just mentioned were arguably better.
  21. Apart from Garde and Di Matteo who had half seasons or less, all of our other managers in the past 6 years have had 5 or 6 good games, even McLeish...that was my point. Apart from the semifinal, his 5 or 6 good games weren't any different from the other managers' 5 or 6 good games which is why 'but he had some good games' is such an odd defence of him. They all did.
  22. Not sure if it's been posted already, but re: Conway being very good at her job.
  23. She looks like she's just about tired of this shit.
  24. It was literally like 5 or 6 good games though Apart from the semifinal which was easily our best performance in the past 5 years, the rest were just good performances that were no better than that of some of our other managers' in that time. And they were more than cancelled out by the final and the 9 losses in 10 games after 50M spent to start the next season. It's also made worse by the fact that these shortcomings were clearly because he didn't know what the hell he was doing. It's not like a run of bad form, or that he lost the dressing room. He was literally out there pretending to be a PL manager and was actually winging it. I honestly can't see how he's not the worst of the bunch. The only one close to him is Di Matteo.
