  1. Muslims in favour of Islamic law for Muslim majority countries shocker. I know Sharia is this scary buzzword, but there's nothing surprising about that. For contrast, 57% of American Christians (and 32% of all Americans and 44% of Republicans) are in favour of uprooting the constitution and making Christianity the official religion which is essentially turning the country into a theocracy. But since they're not brown I guess it's not that big of a deal.
  2. We are getting cut open every time they get the ball ffs
  3. Josh McEachran, there's one for the players you forgot about thread.
  4. Kodjia onside there. What is this through ball malarky though. I thought that was only possible on FIFA.
  5. Okay? The stat I posted was of all Americans, not just Christians...because you know, pollsters never single out any particular groups other than Muslims and ask questions like that, not least white Christians. Anyway there was a multi-faith poll done in the States on same sex marriage, and American Christians and Muslims were pretty much the same (though like i said earlier Muslims were more in favour than all but 3 demoninations, in some cases three or fourfold).
  6. I think the craziest thing that's happened this week was the naming of Steve Bannon to the National Security Council.
  7. I can't wait for the reaction if he's still here today, and actually starts
  8. What kind of threat can a 5 year old pose?
  9. This. I remember a Pew poll that showed more American Muslims were in favor of same sex marriage than every Christan denomination bar 2, and that includes 'traditionally African American' Christians. I'll try to find it when I get on my PC.
  10. Yep, what goes on in the CAR is probably even worse than anything I've heard done by even ISIS.
  11. It had nothing to do with non believers and martyrs, that's just recruitment rhetoric, I mean ol Osama has spelled it out in so many of those old VHS recordings for us: "There is America, full of fear from its north to its south, from its west to its east. Thank God for that. What America is tasting now is something insignificant compared to what we have tasted for scores of years. Our nation [the Islamic world] has been tasting this humiliation and this degradation for more than 80 years. Its sons are killed, its blood is shed, its sanctuaries are attacked, and no one hears and no one heeds." "The American people had risen against their government's war in Vietnam. They must do the same today. The American people should stop the massacre of Muslims by their government." "Free men do not forfeit their security, contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom. If so, then let him explain to us why we don't strike Sweden, for example." "I present a reconciliation initiative... whose essence is our commitment to stop operations against all (European) countries if they promise not to be aggressive towards Muslims or interfere in their affairs."
  12. 1 in 4 Americans believe that homosexuality should be a crime. Let that sink in, and this is in the land of the free and brave. Comparing those Christians to Muslims in failed states, dictatorships and lawless countries on the face of it is disingenuous.
  13. Hillary is gone mate, let it go.
  14. Forgive my ignorance, but what is this commemorating?
  15. Coming soon to Of Topic, The Ashley Westwood Thread.
  16. By reading their texts. It's mostly the same stuff.
  17. I'm not sure what the metrics are for what makes a tolerant religion that these studies proved but I'll take your word for it. The point wasn't that Islam is not intolerant but that it's no more or less intolerant than the Christianity that you have an odd reverence for. They're pretty much the same.
  18. You're missing the point, it is relatively tolerant (though it is getting increasingly intolerant, thanks in no small part to the type of rhetoric you've been displaying in here and the election of a certain Mr. Trump) but if Muslims are getting massacred like that out here, how can you say they're not victims at all when they face that but tenfold in the middle East?
  19. He says, the day after Muslims were gunned down in cold blood in the tolerant West.
  20. There are checks and balances in place in the US to keep the Christian extremists in line, that will probably be slowly eroded away mind you. Drop them in lawless Yemen or Afghanistan and you'll probably see something similar...for example, the CAR which is probably the worst of the lot. Like @limpid said, it's simply cultural bias to say one is significantly worse or better than the other when they're 99% the same. A whole host of geopolitical and other circumstances explain the difference in actions among the followers.
  21. Your right it's not the same, suspicion is arguably worse. Hate is one thing, but treating someone like a perpetual fifth column is dangerous as history has shown time and again.
  22. Hate, suspicion, feels the same to me on my end and has the same end result of voting someone like Trump into power.
  23. It's pretty scary seeing all of this unfold before your eyes as a Muslim. Like I said before, Osama won. He scared the west into hating Muslims.
  24. Really? I read a CBC (who are very reputable) report confirming the man was merely a witness. In a pair of tweets sent shortly after noon, the Sûreté du Québec confirmed one of the men arrested is now considered a witness. Six men died in the shooting during evening prayers at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec (Islamic cultural centre of Quebec). Nineteen people were also wounded. Police also said it's too early to know the motive, what charges may be laid or when the suspect will appear in court. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-city-mosque-gun-shots-1.3957686
  25. I'll just quote that article again from a couple pages back. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/01/30/at-least-five-killed-in-shooting-at-quebec.html They've taken it down for obvious reasons, the words removed.
