  1. How do you know they're not ready? Herd was thrown into the deep end at right back but got man of the match for that performance. Yet our manager thought it was a good idea to buy someone for 4m who's proven worse than him in that position. It won't hurt to try one of them in position considering Warnock is just a disaster all over. Even when he isn't making mistakes, he still gets turned over easily. Lichaj isn't Clark because LB/RB are his main positions, where as for Clark he was played out of position.
  2. Lichaj or Baker available for left back but he chooses Warnock again. Deathwish.
  3. It's going to be a sick feeling when we play Sunderland at home. You just know MON will walk all over McLeish and that will be the biggest embarassment this club has faced in ages. The fact Sunderland are the new Aston Villa and we're the new Small Heath Alliance.
  4. We've had some winnable games as well over this season. Did we win them? Nope, in fact we were lucky to scrap draws agaisnt some mid table teams such as Stoke. Also, the players in Sunderland aren't anything special. MON does seem to have a special talent of making average players play above their normal standard though. He also seems alot better when he isn't spending money. Strange manager.
  5. How much money has MON spent at Sunderland? What was laughing about last week when a neutral fan made a point about him being good on a low budget?
  6. He seems to be doing a much better job at Sunderland than he did with us even during his later seasons. Let's see if it can last.
  7. Swansea are above us Norwich are above us Sunderland defeated Stoke away (it was a cup final for the pro defensive people when we drew 0-0) Wolves defeated QPR away (it was a cup final for the pro defensive people when we drew 2-2 at HOME) 8 points away from relegation (McLeish is shit in the league at the last third of the season) We've yet to play top 7 teams in the second half of the season The people who make excuses for him and actually think he's doing a good job:
  8. When people defend AM from unwarranted abuse they are branded as having some sort of great affinity for him, and even as put by one poster perceiving him as a messiah. The immaturity is astounding. Nope, some actually think he's doing a good job. Pardew has had much more assets stripped from him and yet is actually going for the Champions League spot, nevermind Europa League. McLeish is aiming to stay in the league and Villa fans are happy with that. The level of ambition is at an all time low. I think it's about time they remember who we are and stop making excuses of a manager who has no place in the Premier League. We've been at the Premier League since it's birth. This club should always aim for European spots. Not be thankful we're competing in the bottom half of the table against of promotional teams and low mid table teams. The board have proven to be Mickey Mouse tosspots who have no idea about football whatsoever, but that doesn't mean the fans have to join with them and think we're improving everytime we pick up a rare league win. Everytime we win (or even draw) it's like we're 'improving'. The highest we've been on the ladder this season when we picked up a win against Chelsea, we've never reached that height again. I fear for their heart if we get a back to back win. The sheer shock excitment will kill it. But once upon a time, only last season, we actually managed that. McLeish has brainwashed quite a few around here.
  9. Nah, I can't see him changing it. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks. He'll play us deep again tommorow in fear of the Newcastle players.
  10. Not to mention a 100% winning record against small health We had a fantastic record against all the local sides when he was here. Sadly that all went to shit under Houllier losing to Sha, WBA and Wolves in the same season for the first time in over 50 years. Hopefully the recent win against Wolves will be the first step on righting that wrong. Erm, we defeated Wolves away last season as well. And it's not exactly improving under McLeish seeing as we lost against WBA at home. When was the last time that happened?
  11. No, I'm saying I want a manager to set us up to win. Funny how we always play deep when we're 0-0.
  12. I'd hate to think what the pro defensive of McLeish would be like if he did as good as Pardew. They would die of excitement, literally. It's embarassing people make excuses of a manager who pick up 1 win every 4 league games per average and always set us up not to lose.
  13. Houllier came at the worst possible time. If it was McLeish who came there instead we would have been relegated.
  14. MON - 42% win ratio Houllier - 35% win ratio McLeish - 29% win ratio Also, 2 of McLeish wins have come from Bristol Rovers and Hereford with most of the starting players.
  15. The bigger picture was that Houllier was trying to bring us to modern football. McLeish on the other hand has a worst football philosophy than MON. Anyone with football knowledge would realise he's not the man to bring us forward. Mediocrity is his ceiling.
  16. We're getting better at attack, but worse in defence. During most of the first half of the season we were in the top half. Now we're in the bottom half and we still have the top 7 teams to play. How exactly are we improving? Are people still hung over by the Wolves result or something? McLeish is shaping us up to 1 win out of 4 league games. How is that acceptable I have no idea. Lose against Newcastle and we'll be on the same points as we were last season.
  17. 0-3 I have total faith that the defence will keep a clean sheet away and that Warnock will find it in himself to get a hat trick.
  18. The material is the major concern. Also, what is the deal with the man anyway? It's not exactly branding their logo name is it? :?
  19. Pardew is currently 5th in the table sitting above Liverpool and Arsenal. McLeish is currently 12th in the table sitting below Norwich and Stoke. People seem to be giving McLeish alot of praises lately. Hilarious.
  20. McLeish did nothing when we were 0-2 down. He just sat there with a facepalm when Warnock made a mistake. Suddenly the attacking players were allowed to attack to rectify his negative tactics. If there was no shackles at the start we would have won. McLeish is always scared of losing. That's why we always play deep 0-0. 2 goals down you have to attack. But funny enough there was a time when we were 2-0 down against Spurs he refused to allow the players to attack. We have a group of talented attacking players being wasted on a extremely negative manager. We have to 'hope', not accept, actually hope he'll bring us more mediocrity in the future because the thought of him staying here for 2 more seasons puts our PL status in danger.
  21. Ok then, McLeish is the best manager since sliced bread. Whoah, look at his win ratio in the league. We're on the up.
  22. Cos I see him as a stereotypical Irish guy.. Everytime I see him he looks pissed. He just annoys the hell out of me. Can I just congratulate you on making yourself look like the biggest idiot in the thread when the thread contains CI (that's a joke by the way) What isn't a joke, and i don't want to wave an imaginary red card here (but I'm going to), is that if I said somethign like "Bent reminds me of a stereotypical black guy...he always looks high and full of fried chicken" I'd probably be banned from the site. I'm half Irish. I'm not offended by what you said up there, but that doesn't mean i think it's acceptable that you said it. But wait a second. I've seen people making ginger jokes/insults regarding McLeish and Collins. GarethRDR was guilty of this yesterday when he had an image 'Ginger Thunder' with Collins face planted on a launcher. Why is the colour of their hair relevant to them as a person? Why mention that at all? But this sort of stuff doesn't bother me. What does bother me however when people make this sort of stuff a serious matter when they were guilty of it themselves not so long ago. It smacks of hypocrisy at it's finest. I don't see anyone making a fuss about that when it's more or less the same.
  23. Yeah I agree. I can't believe people gave credit to McLeish yesterday. If they were allowed to play like that at the start we would have won. McLeish's management cost us 2 points because he's still depending on the defence to soak up pressure, but we know they're hopeless at doing it. It's been happening well over 10 times now, yet he still sticks with the same plan. From Albert Einstien: Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
