Yellow cards does seem a particularly dodgy way of deciding between two teams. Fair enough red cards but there is such variance between refs and what they will book you for, especially when I don't think you can VAR them.
Me too. Regarding the kit my only problem is if we just have one of those templates that everyone else has, just a different colour. It seems incredibly lazy for the amount of money the average fan has to pay for a replica.
Dunno I think the penalty was fair enough. Yeah he may have looked for it but I can see why it was given. A forearm to the face should definitely be violent conduct and I hope they can ban him retrospectively.
Yep I just wish they'd had a longer trial before implementing it in the biggest competition in the world. I also prefer in cricket where it's up to the players to appeal and if it's wrong they lose a review. It'll make the players put up or shut up.
Also because they had extra teams in the tournament, third place teams could go through even without winning a game. Something to look forward to in future world cups so cynical shit teams can progress further than they deserve.
Surely that would defeat the object of it all, though would explain why a few blatant penalties didn't get given by VAR. It still needs a few tweaks anyway.
I was wondering whether Putin was worried the grounds were going to be empty because the European fans have been put off so subsidised some of the flights from that part of the world. That may just be me stereotyping that there aren't a huge amount of wealthy people in Latin America though. Anyway I think half the game so far has been spent on treating 'injuries'.
