  1. Travelling up for the Blackburn home game I was cock-a-hop and convinced that we were going to give them a hiding. However, as we know it ended up being much tighter than expected. So I am less optimistic for this game and hoping my pessimism does the trick. All talk of another win has been banned in my family. The old superstitions will hopefully work
  2. Give over Rob. In the 70s we did ‘comebacks’ for fun
  3. Indeed but the MU v SU game was exceptional with 7 minutes injury time. Nobody could explain why so much was played at the time. It was the ultimate ‘fergie time’
  4. True but it was a blow. At the time it felt like the wind had been taken from our sails. Had Man U drawn that game who knows? When we lost to Oldham at home 1-0 a few weeks later it looked like we’d given up! Terrible day!
  5. ***REVENGE*** It is incredibly sweet scoring two in Sheffield in injury time with Bruce as manager, albeit of Wednesday. As many of the older fans will remember, Bruce scored the winner for Man U v Sheffield Utd in 1993 in the 7th minute of extra time when we were challenging them for the first premiership title. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/birth-fergie-time-steve-bruce-10559309 It took a long time BUT REVENGE IS SWEET!
  6. What a difference three weeks makes!!
  7. I accept that we have to be more than a one man team but losing Grealish was a massive blow. We didn't have a player who could play the same role. As you know Smith didn't join us till October so inherited essentially Bruce's squad. I agree bringing in Mings was a great move, but I think we lost our way primarily because we didn't have a competent midfielder to replace Jack.
  8. I have never lost faith in Smith. Losing Grealish, Tuanzebe, and having to play Chester while injured would have floored most managers. IF we get into play-offs, imho we will go up. We are a much better, stronger and more positive team now than under Bruce. Saturday will be very interesting. The crowd will be really up for it, the team know we are in with a chance of the play-offs and full of confidence. I think we could give 'Boro a hammering!
  9. Fantastic performance. We made Forest look pretty ordinary. We can beat anyone at the moment.
  10. The Grealish’s of the football will always get the dogs abuse. We did it when Small Heath had Trevor Francis. Doesnt worry me one iota. Jack will increasingly thrive on it and is on the up. Getting back to the PL is all that matters. The thug that attacked him is a pathetic nobody, banned for life, jailed for 14 weeks, he will come out still a pathetic nobody with nothing to do at the weekend.
  11. Couldn’t agree more. I would like to add that it isn’t just off the pitch that they are thugs. Kleftbeld’s foul on Grealish was clearly planned and he should been showed a red.
  12. John As you know, they have always been an embarrassment to the city of Birmingham. Nothing changes......
  13. - it goes without saying that if Grealish & Tuanzebe had been available then things could be very different.
  14. Appalling comments here about Smith. The man needs to be given a chance. He inherited a totally s**t squad and very few options. Some Villa fans need to wise up.
  15. They will need to change their game in 2nd half. Provided our defence don’t screw it up we could get another few here. Unlike the SB days we will stay on the front foot. Who is on our bench?
