  1. Are some people for real on this site? Sam Allerdyce, manage Aston Villa? do me a favour...They'll be calling to bring back DoL next and I'll know its time to call for the men in white coats... IMO its crazy to want a new manager with only 8 games left in the season, we all need to put all this negative crap aside and get right behind the team and the current manager, we can deal with all of that other stuff when the seasons over.
  2. Can't see that working. I don't believe he is fit enough to do the job of one man for 90 minutes, let alone 2! :winkold: I thought Stan was Petrov?
  3. REALLY dreading this match, Everton will fight like crazy until the very end... Young on the left please, or IMHO we are truely ****. Heskey to start up front with Bent, with Gabby coming on when Heskey's run out of steam...Oh and whilst I'm at it, can we give someone else the captains armband? We need a real leader for christ sake, someone who gets stuck in, someone like NRC maybe? not someone who ponces about the pitch giving the officials grief in order to deflect attention from his own below-par performances... One final request, and I know it might not go down too well as it is a little radical, but how about giving someone else a go at taking free kicks? The current guy IMHO, is an embarrassment... Desperate for 3 points but would settle for 1...
  4. I agree with you mate, your not mad..You obviously see the bigger picture like I do. I'm with you two... Oh and some of the suggestions posted on here for a new manager are laughable.
  5. I had an invite the very first week it re-opened...I go in there reguarly now and as long as you are a season ticket holder you pay the same entrance fee as you would in the Holte Suite
  6. Come on people....We bossed the 1st half, and if the lads come out and play like that again in the second, then we've got a good chance of winning this game...There were some really positive performances out there...Let's get behind the team, not slate them...
  7. Heskey - Shit Petrov - Shit Bradley - Shit This is so depressing!
  8. The 'team' played really well today, a good solid performance by all the lads. However, I have to say that it makes all the difference when we put our chances away and kill the game off. We should've got at em more in the first half though, because as soon as we did in the second half Blackburn couldn't handle it. A couple of quality goals by Downing and Young too. Let's hope this performance breeds the confidence to go and beat Citeh in the cup.
  9. I've heard 'Ghost Riders in the Sky' played a few times at Villa Park and to be honest it didn't do it for me, but maybe it was because there was no-one singing along to it...
  10. Correct, I've defended Ireland most times on here but ultimately he needs to get it in his head he has to start performing properly in the prem otherwise he'll be playing in the lower leagues in the next few years. If he can't get himself motivated to play premier league football there is absolutely NO chance he'll get out of bed to play lower league football.
  11. Gutted we couldn't hold on for the win tonight, especially after it looked like we'd stolen it at the end. In all honesty though a draw was probably a fair result on the night. We'll be looking for Arsenal to slip up again now if we're going to make it 4 in-a-row.
  12. Having travelled up there for our last two fixtures against citeh, I have to agree that its best to travel using either the official Villa coaches or by your own mode of transport. Using the official coaches means that you are taken right into the main car-park which is literally 2 minutes walk from the stadium. And althought the stadium is nice, the surrounding areas are terrible, real Shameless territory in my book. I have to admit that I didn't feel safe at all walking back to my car in the dark following a midweek match a couple of seasons ago, was glad to get out of there.
  13. It pains me to say it but I think Ireland needs to go in the summer. Its obvious from his terrible performances for us this season, and the fact that he's buggered off on loan to Newcastle that he hasn't got the appitite for a huge club like Villa. Shame, because I really thought he would bring something different to the team this year, which he did, unfortunately is was his total 'anonymity' during games. It was like playing with 10 men with him in the team and you can't be carrying passengers in the Premier League. No doubt we'll end up letting him go for next to bugger all just to get him off the wage bill, and I can't help feeling like we sold ourselves well short over the Milner deal. Citeh took away the 'heartbeat' of our team and we made what a £4m profit? Oh, and I almost forgot we got their bloody 'problem child' as part of the deal. Someone somewhere was a little naive at the time me thinks...
  14. Big deal, she's a chick, so what? I don't know what all the fuss is about. They should leave her alone and let her get on with her job. We live in a free society where women have the same opportunites as men. I've been rsitting here racking my brain trying to think of a job or sport that only a man does, all I've come up with so far is Sumo wrestling, and I'm sure that if I looked hard enough online I'd find that women do that too, I just can't bring myself to research it, eww yuk! Anyway, I just wish we could just get on with talking about football and not the bloody officials, who are all jumped up ar**holes who're all under the illusion that they're celebrities and are as important as the players. IMO the only good official is one you hardly see in a game. Personally I'm all 'for' female lino's, I'd much prefer to see them running up and down the line than the current useless muppets who turn up to officiate games at Villa Park, I mean lets face it, women couldn't be any worse.
  15. Are you serious? Makoun put in the best first half performance from a midfielder at VP I have ever seen. Easily MOTM. Err, are you on drugs dude??? For a start, Makoun played much better at Old Trafford on Tuesday than he did yesterday. Secondly, some absolutely outstanding midfielders have graced the Villa Park pitch over the years, and if Makoun's performance really was the best Midfield performance you've ever seen at VP, then it begs the following questions: 1. When did you become a Villa fan, on Wednesday? 2. Was Saturday's game your first Villa match? 3. How old are you? The only thing I can think of it was your first football match and you were measuring Makoun's performance against that of Petrov.
  16. It's Le Coq Sportif for me, the Villa kits they produced in the early 80's were awesome
  17. Game should've been all over by half-time but we let them back in and paid the price by dropping 2 very much needed points. Petrov was terrible again, as were Dunne and Collins. Please Gerrard bring Cueller back into our defence. Ash and Gabby need to swap places as both are wasted playing in their current positions. Macoun, Downing and Walker all ldid ok. the rest could and should've done better.
  18. Errr, is everyone forgetting King Carlos? He'd win PotM, that is if he ever got a regular start in the 1st team! Carlos is a better player that Dunne & Collins put together. I don't know about you but those two at the back worry me, and have done since owards the end of last season.
  19. Looked like a top player tonight, made Petrov look soooo slow...
  20. Thought Makoun looked really good tonight, he's got quick feet and can keep the ball. My problem was with Petrov, don't get me wrong I like Stan, but am I only one who thought he looked really, really slow tonight? He was constantly getting caught in posession. I think he'll find it hard to get into the team next season.
