I could see that happening. Against United we do one of two things. Get thrashed or go 1-0 or 2-0 up, bottle it, then draw or lose.

We''ll be 3-0 down before halftime. Our record against United is utterly atrocious. They are bang in form and we dont know what form is at this stage. To put it another way, its the worst possible team, at the worst possible time, to play. And we need nothing but 3 points. What could go wrong?

Based on what exactly? We havent won in 10 games. Scored 2 goals in the last 7 games. Have worse fixtures to come than the last 5 which we got 2 points from. Outside of Norwich, we have the worst attack and defence in the league and are completely and horrifically out of form. Oh and are 4 points from safety. There is not a single piece of evidence to suggest we get anywhere close to survival.

Back on topic, what completely **** us was the Sheff United result. Some people were celebrating a good point. I'm not a "told you so" type of person but I said then that it was a terrible result. They barely showed up, it was a game we HAD to win. Not just for the 3 points but to break our shocking run, it was one of the easiest fixtures left and because it would have given us the much needed boost we had to have to have any chance of survival. That "good point" was so valuable that we're all but down with 5 games left.

I havent seen any "meltdowns" but your team getting relegated is just about the worst thing that can happen, outside of liquidation. If people want to meltdown then I dont blame them. I find it incredibly odd that people try and score points at a time like this. Is that REALLY what important? What someone on a message board is saying?

This season has been arguably the worst for me as Villa fan. 2015-16 was awful but we were relegated from about November so it was just a non-entity. This time though its worse because it kind of makes the playoff final void and I had real hope that we would become a solid PL side again. We also looked like we would be fine in January. To see us limp to relegation with a whimper is hard to watch. And to rub salt in the wounds, the only positive this season, the cup run, in the end of course meant absolutely nothing. In the same way this season makes last season forgettable, the only thing that can save this season is winning the Championship next season at a canter. But I'm not even thinking about next season atm. I just want this one dont so we can forget about football for a bit. The lockdown was light relief from the pain of being a Villa fan.

I dont buy that the squad isnt good enough. Utter rubbish. Worse sides than us are comfortably safe. Any group of players are capable of not getting relegated from the PL. The buck stops with Smith. He hasnt created any kind of "niche" for us. We cant defend, we cant score, dont show fight, rubbish subs, changes (if they come) never work. He's been exposed badly this season.

If Watford dont gain another point, we still wont pass them. We're 100% down.

Results just keep going our way. It's a miracle really that no shithouse around us has found a couple of wins from somewhere. The biggest issue though and why I think we're doomed is that I just cant see where the **** WE'RE going to pluck a win from. As above said, come the weekend we're likely going to be 4 points adrift. I can't see anything but two drubbings for us.

If we had just a tiny bit about us in the last 4 games, we'd almost already be safe. Everyone around us keeps losing and we've done nothing with our opportunites.
