Cancelling the league is the only thing that can save us. Yes it sucks for the potential promoted teams and is lucky for the relegation doomed teams (ie, us) but loads of people are going to die so they can't have too many complaints. It's no-ones fault.
-
Playing a team out of form with a striker out of form. Lose 4-0 and said striker scores 2. Vintage Villa. Smith out first thing tomorrow please.
-
Right sack him. We have to roll the dice at this point. We’re gonna finish bottom at this rate. We have nothing to lose by getting rid of him now.
-
Remember when people were saying after our supposed “good performance” last week that we’d be fine if play like that for the rest of the season? How’s that working out?
-
Yeah we contained them to 70% possession, 13 corners and 22 shots on goal.
-
That's your opinion. My opinion is that the only deluded people in this thread are the ones saying that was a good performance.

Right it was the wrong decision. But bad decisions are made in every game. They didnt get a dodgy penalty, they got a corner. Guilbert was flat footed and marking a player much taller than him. The reason for that goal was because of shit marking. Pissing and whining about the corner being given is pathetic.- 236 replies

Not once did I say we should have been matching their possession. Against top teams the one thing you should be able to get right is defending set pieces. There is no excuse for mis-matches and our tallest player marking no-one. We were punished once and nearly punished again by failing to mark players at set-pieces. There is also no excuse for hoofing the ball aimlessly when we got it. We didnt have much possession so we needed to make it count when we go it and we didnt. I'm not convinced any set up today would have won us the game but we didnt play well or have a gameplan and fans saying this should not be vilified. If it makes you feel better by saying "the lads put in a shift" then by all means knock yourself out.

And if we'd cleared that first corner, no-one would have mentioned the bad decision again.- 236 replies

For the people saying the second goal was due to the linesman having a shocker. When Rodri scored almost the exact same goal in the second half, was that the linesman fault too? Or was it because of shit marking yet again?- 236 replies

I actually thought he was our best player today.
-
So anyone saying anything different from "I'm proud of the boyzzzz UTV" is a troll?
-
And bottom of the league Norwich beat Man City this season and that was against a full strength City team.
-
I know they do. I wasnt expecting anything less. But I'm not going around saying it was a good performance and that we competed in midfield.
-
I would expect desire, effort and commitment from a Sunday league team in a cup final. The midfield didnt compete. They passed us off the park and the only time we would get the ball was after a missed shot or them putting it out of play. Basically the only positive I see people coming up with is that we didnt get hammered.
-
What positives were there exactly? The only positive today was how well taken the goal was. We defended set pieces poorly. Hoofed the ball aimlessly everytime we got it. Didn't seem to have any game plan whatsoever and were sinking without trace until Stones **** up. Dont get me wrong, I'm not laying into the team but the praise the performance and indeed Smith is getting is utterly baffling.

I'm confused by the people saying it was a good performance. We barely had a kick, didnt create anything from open play and had Stones not had yet another howler, it could have been 4 or 5. The scoreline is respectable and its no disgrace to be outplayed by City but it wasnt a "good performance" by Villa at all.- 236 replies

They gave it a good go. No disgrace losing by one goal to this team. Still 24 years without a trophy and four lost finals- 236 replies
