You may have misunderstood. I asked for evidence, not appeals to ancient wisdom and new age nonsense. Evidence. Data backed up with facts. Not ideas backed up with (and let's be generous) hot air. Where were your aliens for the first 4.54 billion years that Earth's been around?

There are a 100 billion ish stars in our galaxy and there are more galaxies than that. There are almost certainly a lot more than a billion planets. Ok Patrick Moore, calm down ;-) I've just done some googling and we really have no idea how many stars there are in our galaxy. Anywhere from 100 billion to 300 billion, although the smart money seems to be the lower end of that range. The figure for visible universe galaxies seems to currently be around 200 billion. That's a lot of stars. Life elsewhere is an extremely high probability. Intelligent life elsewhere is an extremely high probability. The chance of us ever meeting other life is infinitesimal. At least with our current understanding of how it all works.

Evidence? Being a good sceptic I have to ask you to show this evidence.

Yes, it sounds like for you with your very specific requirements and contacts that might be true. But you are using g+, just not much until people move across, that will increase. g+ also does everything twitter does, but with better filtering and no pointless length limits. It's good that we have a choice. I use g+ and hangouts every day. I use facebook occasionally (usually in relation to running VT) and I've not re-installed whatsapp since I last wiped my phone (arond xmas). I don't think I've lost contact with anyone that matters and I have much better access to current information on things of interest to me. As you say, horses for courses. And again, I didn't say "instead". PS. I may have mixed you up with another poster when replying on the app. Sorry.

I don't expect many people will just switch, even though it sounds like you've already given up on facebook. (Although Whatsapp is facebook.) You've misunderstood g+ though. While it is good for the "friends" stuff (but quiet until others move), it's much better for following things that interest you.

Perhaps if we could offer our visitors smaller allocations after the minimum then they might do the same in return? That way all clubs could buy smaller batches of additional tickets without the risk of getting caught with unsold tickets. In order for this to work the tickets might need to be put on sale sooner and people might have to commit to purchase earlier. If only we had a Supporters Consultation Group which a) discussed useful things, not pie flavours and invited people to attend.

you might want to have a word with Miss Limpid then ..PS how was the curry I've no idea, it wasn't me eating curry in a Chinese restaurant. That's a cracking example of just how poor facebook is. You don't even bother to read it properly. I don't care what others post, I'm just not interested in sifting the huge amounts of chaff from the rare good bits, especially when it's much easier to do so on g+. I still have the facebook account as it is needed for the VT integration, that's pretty much the only reason though.
