veloman
Yep, well deserved and good to hear him give credit to his team again. Good for the profile of cycling.
Juju
Er, I thought it was "personality of the year". He didn't seem to have one from his speech.
mjmooney Posted December 22, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted December 22, 2011 It's always been a stupid title. Should be "Sportsman of the Year", or (if we must be politically correct) "Sportsperson".
TrentVilla Posted December 22, 2011 Moderator Share Posted December 22, 2011 I think you were right the first time Cav is a legend so so pleased for him.
veloman
It's always been a stupid title. Should be "Sportsman of the Year", or (if we must be politically correct) "Sportsperson". Spot-on post ! It does seem that "Cav" is not as media savvy as some other sportsmen and in cycling I would suggest Chris Hoy is better at speeches etc (and a damn good cyclist!) But I thought Cav spoke from the heart - although have a slight bias towards cycling of course I would suggest it is the same in football; even the great Sir Ron Saunders didnt always come over as well as others - could be perceived as being a bit taciturn (IMO of course) but still the greatest manager ever to have walked the Earth !! RunRickyRun
Fantastic to see Cav's achievements recognised by the British public. The award was fully deserved. Good to see Mo Farrah in the top three as well. He has had a tremendous year.
