You then asked me if I still thought he was the best crosser in the Premier League. My interpretation of the statistics now take account of the fact we only have half a season worth of data, so my answer is no, I don't think Bannan is the best crosser, even though statistically his crossing was the best in the league last season. No statistically his crossing wasn't the best in the league. As for data, no we don't have half a seasons worth of data, we have an entire season's worth, to be judged the best of something the stat needs to be run across the season as a whole not a snap shot of it in order to support your view. You just want to dismiss the second half of the season purely because the stats don't support your argument as I'm sure you probably know. Saying someone is the best at something based upon their performance up to a set point is akin to saying someone is the best goal scorer because they were top of the charts in October. I have recorded the stats so you can't change history by referring to articles which have fudged the figures to remove Bannan from the top spot. Pass success - Percentage of attempted passes that successfully found a teammate Cross - An attempted/accurate pass from a wide position to a central attacking area The reference to "central attacking area" is to distinguish the cross from the pass. I thought that Albrighton would become our David Beckham (I'm still hoping he comes through all his injury problems and has a useful career) and Gary Gardner could be the new Gerard. The above thoughts probably disqualify me from being taken seriously but I'm not bothered. Con gets a lot of stick for his firm opinions and the stats that he uses, but imo he is one of the posters that make VT worth visiting, along with Sir Gary and until fairly recently Julie B and Gazton. VT is all about different personalities and weird and wonderful opinions, so all I will say is that there will be a few red faces on here in 2018 when Bannan holds the world cup aloft as Scottish captain with the able help of an ageing Hutton!
