Joe Anderson the rider of TROLLEY BOY, placed second beaten by half a length, appeared to mistake the ½ furlong marker for the winning post. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Anderson was suspended for 10 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished first.

reminds me of an incident maybe a couple of years back where the jockey thought the 1m6f(?) race was about 6f, and went full sprint not realising he had a full circuit still to run!

Sorry haven’t kept track of this thread. Had two yesterday no luck and two day before with one winning at 12/1 Glinger Flame . Got a jumps selection for tomorrow and going to start doing a lucky 15 on the flats on days when there’s better class racing which there is tomorrow .

There’s an angle I’m thinking of looking at. Front Runners racing in races where there is not much pace so the front running horse gets an easy go of things on the front end. I’ve just looked at something online and it’s supposedly profitable at certain tracks, and more profitable at certain distances.  Front running horses supposedly have an higher chance of winning over horses that are just off the pace or held up etc

The 'held up' part is something that I looked at last year, basically if the run description for a beaten favourites previous race mentioned 'held up', the next race the horse ran it would win more often than not, that said odds were normally quite low for these horses so making any profit was difficult. Sadly I don't have the reports for this any longer - I badgered the sd card the system was on! Bloody ex IT consultant not making backups!
How would you go about identifying the front running horses? Would you mine the run descriptions or the various racecard texts?

Well that’s what I’m struggling with how to go about it.  At the races have something on the race cards that monitor Form , draw bias and also pace so maybe look at cards and go from there ? If they are saying the pace is only going to come from one horse then that would be a selection but not sure how accurate it is. Suppose it could give you potential selections then dig deeper and read the past 2-3 race reports on the RP website for that particular horse.

Shame I had a load of at the races race card and result data with draw bias, pace, predictions, odds movements. I could get the past 2-3 UK/IRE race reports quite easily for any given horse, but you'd end up with so much reading, today as an example this morning there were 410 runners, you'd have 1230 race reports to read.

been a bit too busy to study but need to get back into it with some great meetings around the corner!

do you guys go to watch it much? got salisbury in july but want to get another one sorted before then...i considered the derby but didn't fancy £70 to stand in a packed grandstand
