baldivisvilla
So sad, great player, was there in 83 when he scored after 1 min.
TrinityRoadSteps
Without a doubt he played in the best team, man for man, I have ever seen live. The Juve team that night was the very definition of Star Studded. Zoff, Gentile, Cabrini, Bonini, Brio, Scirea, Bettaga, Tardelli, Rossi, Platini, Boniek.
maqroll
Another titan of the game gone. One of my favorite pizzerias as a kid had a poster of Rossi on the wall, along with the '82 WC winning team photo. I was too young to have seen him then because the WC wasn't televised in the USA in those days!
Brumstopdogs
Sad to hear that - always remember him from the 82 World Cup. RIP.
VT Supporter S-Platt Posted December 10, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted December 10, 2020 One of my first non Villa heroes. That 82 World Cup was the first I remember and Paulo and the Brazil team will aways be in my heart. Amazing to a 7 year old! RIP Mr Rossi.

Said the same on FB, saw both Cryuff and Pele at Villa park, but as a complete team nothing has come close to that Juve side. veloman
Yep, also at Juve match; what a team and what a player he was. I went to a Lions Club 'do' some time after that match; Tony Barton declared that a certain Villa player had been told to man mark him from the moment the game kicked off. Much to Barton's annoyance the player didn't and Rossi scored !
PaulC
Yes was at Villa Park for the Juve game. Just heard on motd. That Juve team was the best we played in europe. Rossi had an amazing world cup 82. My fav world cup. RIP
