Still hasn't been dispatched :(

Hopefully gets here by the weekend as I've got the house to myself!

Weekend is better for me as the hotel internet has been shite lately.

I joined you last night and you quit the game about two seconds later.

Had one of those terrible teams though.  Some guy in the lobby was trying to make one of us pick Reinhardt (by selecting him and deselecting him rapidly) so he could main heal as Zenyatta.  It was attacking Hollywood so that's doable as long as someone else supports Reinhardt.  I decided to go with Reinhardt as he's my third or fourth most played character and I don't think I got the orb of Harmony at any point in the first three minutes or so, then the guy who had picked Zen and got me to pick Reinhardt changed to Reaper.  The opposition had dug in at the first point and we lost.

I got kicked off PSN. I was playing 2/3 games before that and they were getting laggier and laggier until my PS4 gave up. Sorry about that :(

**** hell, this game sounds hard to master. I'm going in blind

If you play a lot of fps then start with Soldier76. He's fairly straight forward to use and can dominate at lower skill levels.

If you see a largish lady that looks like an eskimo or a firefighter - shoot her and don't stop shooting until she stops moving. Shoot her some more then crouch, stand, crouch, stand (etc)

It's fairly forgiving as far as FPS goes.  The short version of what you need to know is basically this:

1] It's a six on six objective based shooter. The aim of the game isn't to kill everybody on the other team but it's to achieve a set of objectives such as controlling an area of a map or escorting a moving payload from one side of a level to the other (or obviously trying to stop the other team from doing those things to you). Killing the other team certainly helps you achieve this but it's not the be all and end all.

2] It's a class based shooter.  The teams are made of six characters which you can choose from a roster of twenty three.  Those twenty three characters are split up into four classes.  You've got offence who, broadly speaking, are high damage and high maneuverability with moderate survivability.  They are good for fighting other characters with.  Defence classes tend to have extremely high damage but lower maneuverability.  They are more for controlling areas of a map than winning one on one fights, but they can still kick your arse.  Tank classes have high survivability and are supposed to be in the front lines pushing a payload or holding down an objective.  Support classes are there to help other classes shine, for the most part they are healers but they can also provide other boosts like increased damage, speed or maneuverability.

3] Every character has an ultimate ability.  You'll see a meter in the middle of the screen which charges up as the game goes by. It ticks up over time but doing damage, getting kills, blocking damage, healing (etc) will increase the rate that an ultimate ability charges at.  The ultimate is very powerful and can change the game if you use it correctly, for example if you have a huge bomb then you want to use it in a crowded area or if you have a powerful heal then you'll want to save it until perhaps one of the opposition team is using their ultimate against you.

4] Beyond that it's just a case of experimenting and finding what you like.  Some characters are solid all rounders, others strongly excel in certain specific situations.  Some are better at long range, others at close range, some are fast others are slow, some require a sharp aim and others require a clever sense of positioning.  You'll get to know what you like after an hour or two.

I'm Mr Tank and Mr Support.  I'd play more damage dealing classes if I could but I solo queue a lot and tend to find that if I don't pick a tank or healer then the team goes in without one and tends to lose.

Had some good games tonight, shame the voice comms wasn't working.  I got a couple of decent highlights too but for some reason my PS4 share isn't capturing video.

How about this though?

We lost, but I never do well with Widowmaker and I got 50% kill participation.  A wicked headshot on a moving Zenyatta too.  Can't share it though. Grrr.

I like the idea of Zarya, it's just the execution which I struggle with.  I fluff the projected barrier all the time as I tend to use it preemptively rather than reactively.  The who point in Zarya is to generate charge so you don't use your barriers until you are taking damage from an enemy.  It's quite easy to do with the self applying barrier but I don't have the coordination to do it with the projected one.

If you play in a three, Zarya, Winston and Zenyata is a strong strong combo. Let Winston charge out with a barrier and orb. Once he loses a few hp, he can jump away and let a 50/100% Zarya finish off the rest with Zenyata providing discord orbs.

Depends on the map really.  I play quite a bit of Winston but I think he's really best used on KotH style maps or if the other team have a Widowmaker wreaking havoc.
