  1. How long it takes for companies to respond to job applications. I understand there's a closing date etc but surely get the shortlisting panel together the day after and just go through all the applications so that people get a quick answer and can refocus on something else, almost seems sometimes that people advertise jobs just to trick idiots like me into applying for them. And how long does it take to send an email saying "Sorry you haven't been successful." The "28 days" rule as I've taken to calling it annoys me no end. I do understand that there's a lot of candidates for any given job but surely it shouldn't take so long.
  2. I think what struck me about the guy's original post on the Darlo site is that there's no blame, no hatred, nothing, just pure devastation at the imminent loss of his club yet wanting to go out and get behind them one last time; a lot of fans all across the leagues could learn a lot
  3. Saw this on a mate's Facebook, really good read. Just think, no matter how bad things are, or are perceived to be for us at the moment, at least we still have a club that's not about to possibly play it's last game ever. http://darlofc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15733&start=0
  4. Could be worse mate, at least you know you weren't successful. I've had 15 interviews in the last six months and I would say at least a third of them I've never even received an answer. Recruitment consultants are the scum of the earth - as soon as you're no longer of interest to them, they won't return your call. More often than not I don't even get acknowledgement of my application/whether or not I've been shortlisted. I hate recruitment consultants with a passion, they're all words removed.
  5. Going for a job interview to then be told you weren't successful but the old chestnut "We cannot give you any feedback now" Surely you must have feedback there and then as you've made the decision there and then therefore the reason(s) for rejecting me should be fresh in your mind.
  6. Let the over-reactions begin. Thought we were excellent tonight, don't mind losing so much when we actually show commitment. N'Zogbia and Dunne finally showed what we know they can be capable of. Dunne first time in a while as well, he looks so much more composed with Carlos alongside him
  7. Following on from the apostrophe thing, people who don't know the difference between they're, there and their. I despair at the spelling ability (or lack thereof) of the current crop of kids at school. I blame phonetic spelling for such travesties as "gawjus" instead of gorgeous.
  8. I lost my job at the end of October and have just now caught up to date with it. Incredible show. The best bits? Drool
  9. fleetwood, mcvie (x2), buckingham, nicks. gotta love The Chain. Agreed. Off to see Buckingham on Thursday at The Symphony Hall - can't wait
  10. I know the feeling, went with my cousin's boyfriend last year and he had to punch me in the leg to stop me celebrating after Gabby scored
  11. But still what? Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. I'm making the point that I'm aware he's not match fit but I wonder if he has lost a yard of pace as quick players tend to do after a hamstring injury e.g. Owen.
  12. Agbonlahor looks like he's lost a yard of pace. I know he's not match fit but still
