  1. I'm gonna have to put up with a bit of stick when I go into college on Wednesday morning. Oddly enough though, it wont be the Chelsea fan going on about it the most.
  2. We must go to Bolton and win confidently. Our away support is fantastic and we're playing a relatively weak team. This is a great opportunity to show the country we can bounce back. As for the squad, I don't really know, but Dunne should definitely be dropped for this.
  3. Chelsea and Gloucester building society
  4. I don't think that's an entirely fair comparison. This season we've had to compete with City and Spurs.
  5. But have they won the European Cup? @chappy: Good post, and I agree with you, especially with regards to our comeback. I know if I was part of the team that got beat today I'd be pretty annoyed with myself and want to rectify that as soon as possible.
  6. 7 **** 1 says it all Mantis! As much as I enjoyed beating them 2-1 at Villa Park, i would rather have drawn that game 1-1 and lost 3-0 today than to suffer such a humiliation today! Can you seriously see us finishing in the top 7 after today's performance? It was also a freak result. So far this season when we've lost we've lost by a goal or two. I don't know what went wrong today but it happened and we must now get behind the team and the manager and move on. Yes, definitely. We can finish 7th. There's even a slim chance we might finish 4th (although I'm doubting that).
  7. Wait, people were slagging the support off?
  8. On the plus side I thought the support today was absolutely excellent. After the first or second Chelsea goal we all started chanting almost immediately. Also, we were still singing even when we were several goals down.
  9. John Carew Carew, he's bigger than me and you! Seriously, where did that goal come from?
  10. This is why I think perhaps sometimes its best that football fans don't own clubs. While we're obviously the most passionate we can also be a bit short-sighted and irrational in our frustration.
  11. I think MON deserves a lot of criticism after today's game (as do the team as well) but a sacking he does not deserve.
  12. This. One very bad result and a few disappointing results should not warrant the manager being sacked. Thankfully I think Randy and the board don't think like that.
  13. We need to get behind him. I really do believe that getting rid of MON would be possibly one of the worst things you could do. We'd only end up getting Mark Hughes.
  14. Completely agree with this. General, I am completely behind you, Randy and MON. While I am dissapointed in the result I understand that these things happen. UTV.
  15. These knee-jerk reactions are getting rather annoying.
  16. Worst game I've been to in my life. I thought it was all ok up until that penalty really (might I add that was NOT a penalty). We played well at the start of the second half but then fell to pieces. Nothing you can do really but move on. I'm holding out hope that we can bounce back from this and win next weekend.
  17. 2-1 to the Villa. You heard it here first.
  18. I'll tell you what this thread has been unbelievably positive for VT. I like it though. I have to say, the first thing that came to my mind was the Man U away game.
  19. This is why I don't want City to get 4th place. As much as I hate Liverpool and Spurs (then again I hate City too) it's vital that one of us gets it instead of City not only because of that but mainly because they could cement their place in the top 4.
  20. I really can't see MON walking in the summer. I think he's devoted to the club and as others have mentioned, where else could he go with a better chairman?
  21. He would have to be a complete fool to walk. He can shape a team here and has the full backing of the board. Not sure where else he would have it as good. That I agree with, but would you stick in a job where your work isn't appreciated? Better to judge at the end up the season but there is a definite feel of frustration in the air and you can't help but feel we are hitting our heads against a ceiling at the minute. To be honest I think it's just a small minority who don't appreciate him. We still carry on chanting his name week in week out.
  22. This would be my team and I think this might also be the team MON picks --------------Friedel-------------- Young-Cuellar-Collins-Warnock Young-Petrov-Sidwell-Downing --------Carew-Gabby*/Fonz------ *Gabby if fit of course Now I think this can go one of two ways: I think they'll either be really confident from that Portsmouth win and go on to comfortably beat our tired team. Or... They'll go into the game complacent and we'll go into the game with a fighting spirit and record a shock victory. Keep the faith.
  23. I agree with giving him next season. I still think we're doing better this season than we were last season at the moment and perhaps next season MON will start rotating players and installing that killer instinct into them.
  24. Can this poll be made again if we beat Chelsea on Saturday?
  25. Even though we drew today I certainly wasn't bored watching it. I see you're forgetting Reading there. What is your problem with MON anyway? He's certainly not perfect but you make out as if he's the worst manager in the league.
