  1. A brave, if rather contrary and probably quite lonely stance. Me, I'm furious when they play well and lose. Happier really when, like tonight, we play well enough to beat rubbish opposition and move up to 6th again. Stop misunderstanding! I get angry, but not booooored! I am happy to win, but in the back of my mind is the 7-1 loss against Chelsea. We played against Chelsea like we played today, the difference is that Hull stinks! So we got away with it. We should control games like this. Sure the defense was there, but where was the midfield? We played very, very, very poorly against Chelsea. If we had played like that today there's no doubt we would've lost.
  2. We're really grinding out results now. 3 wins in our last 4 at the business end of the season where so many people claim we falter. I just wish we could play away all the time.
  3. And some fuel. They really are clutching at straws now.
  4. Here we go again. We just won and half of the people so far in this thread are still complaining. Gabby MOTM for me.
  5. GGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Is it me or does the Hull keeper have a tendency to run out of his box?
  7. What? He was his typical reliable self today, particularly in the last 10 minutes or so.
  8. It's not about opinion, it's the attitude people have. It stinks. Yes there are improvements to be made and valid criticisms but MON and the team have been very unfairly slated in this thread. Also, just a general point, why when we win are we "lucky" but when we lose we deserve it? When we win some people are always making up excuses. What you are saying is that if people do not agree with your opinion then its pathetic - its there for all to see exactly the point you are making. You may be a happy little bunny the fact that we have won and completely ignore the fact that at times we struggled to beat possibly one of the worst teams to play in the premiership. The fact that again we stick to a same X1 that has been struggling playing fairly one dimensional football. The fact that players such as Petrov are playing at bets - average but seem exempt from removal from the team either at the start or during the match. etc etc So many of the problems we have encountered this year were hilighted again today. Yes we won and great 3 points and the Posh Spice slim chance we have at 4th is still there, but those problems are still there and as such fans who have a realistic and clearer picture outside the claret and blue glasses tinted view that you seemingly have want to discuss them with fellow Villa fans. People like you calling them pathetic are what cause the issues No, I just said it's got nothing to do with difference in opinion. Oh, and what point might that be? :| Did I not just say there are valid criticisms? It didn't go perfect today but we won and I still don't see how that warrants some of the responses in this thread.
  9. I bet if we'd drawn and the Fonz was not brought on people would moaning at MON for that (and rightly so). Today not only did he bring the Fonz on at a crucial time but he also won us the game, yet hardly anybody is even mentioning this. I guess MON just got lucky again eh?

  11. People are concerned over the performance Mantis, you'll sometimes find a really positive reaction on here to a defeat becasue people like the way we played - there are a number of people who feel the opposite way today. There's nothing pathetic about that, it's opinion. But did we really play that badly? I certainly didn't think so. I think it's pathetic because even after winning (which so many people have been crying out for) many of the "fans" in this thread have still completely slated the team and the manager. I get the feeling that a win is just not enough for some people.
  12. Same response from you as well. I think we can win this, Fonz must start.
  13. Couldn't agree more. I did say that unless we won this game by 3 goals or more people would still be attacking the team and the manager. Looks like I was right. Typical VT, Villa overcome a spirited Pompey side and grab all three points and the majority of people are moaning as if we just lost. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic.
  14. But Heskey didn't even play at all on Wednesday.
  15. People always go on about MON being predictable but I'm also finding these match threads rather predictable. Every week people saying the same thing "MON will pick the same team as always". Yes, because he does always pick the same team! What's the point in speculating about L Young, Delph, Delfouneso etc. When we all know the team will be: Friedel, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Downing, Milner, Petrov, A Young, Gabby, Carew. Not always. Often he does, but not all the time.

  17. **Pedant alert** The Fonz definately isn't going to start tomorrow - the games on Sunday  Just pretend I made that comment 4 hours later 8)
  18. I think the Fonz will get a start tomorrow, along with Delph and probably L Young. At least, it would be wise to rest a few players. I'm not normally complacent with ANY team but given their current situation I think we can afford to rest some of our big players.
  19. Couldn't be more true. We're gonna have to win at least 3-0 and retain at least 75% of the posession for there not to be more scathing criticism and moaning.
  20. He appealed to the disillusioned electorate. Brown and Cameron never really went fully into detail but instead suck to their usual guff. Cameron especially failed completely about discussing his policies and was completely incompetent on the economy. If that works for you, well so be it. But Clegg played his cards right and as a politician there isn't much more you can do. He didn't do anything different. People are only flocking to his support because the Lib Dems are not as involved with the government as the other two parties. Oh well, the more people who vote Lib Dem the more votes that takes away from Labour.
  21. I hate how Clegg kept on acting as if he was somehow superior to Brown and Cameron.
  22. So what exactly did Clegg do better than Brown and Cameron?
  23. I think Cameron won that by far. I'm both confused and unsurprised as to why everyone is saying Clegg won.
