  1. I can't see us losing this. I have to admit people were right when they said we often go out with a "don't lose" mentality rather than a winning one.
  2. Personally I think Gabby should start alongside Rooney, but knowing Capello he wont even pick him for the WC squad at all.
  3. If Gabby is playing it's likely we'll win. That is of course if Carew is playing beside him and not Heskey.
  4. From what I've seen not many people rate him apart from Villa fans. Can't imagine why though. he's excellent. Hopefully he'll be back for Wednesday. If he is, I'm confident we can win that given Carew's recent return to form. Except that he will probably return at Carews expense. You're probably right there. I get the feeling that Carew is constantly playing for his place in the team while Heskey can carry on being Heskey and still get put in next to Gabby by default. Carew's gonna have to keep on banging in goals every game (and beat Gabby's goal tally by the end of the season) to stay in the squad. Yes, I know Heskey works 10 times as hard as Carew but Carew also scores 10 times as many goals. The main point of a striker is to score goals, and Carew will always be doing more of that than Heskey.
  5. I have to admit, until I came on here I felt pretty good about the result because I always feel in a good mood when we come back from being behind.

  7. A part of me hopes Dunne isn't fit enough to play on Wednesday so we can have L Young at RB and Collins and Cuellar in the centre. Perhaps then maybe Young can prove himself and Cuellar might go back to centre defense, or maybe he might be out of the squad altogether. Either way I don't want to see Cuellar at RB.
  8. I'm still hoping we'll get it to be honest. City were favuorites a few weeks ago and now Spurs seem to be the new favourites. As R.I.C.O. said, many more twists and turns to come. Don't write us off yet.
  9. He was recovering from the virus which kept him out of the Reading game. Hmm, if we do anything less than beat Sunderland comfortably on Wednesday I can really see this "sack MON" notion picking up steam. Silly really.
  10. Why should MON put Clark in the squad over Collins and Albrighton over Downing? Also, while I do believe Fonz should get more game time, Carew starting is a no-brainer to me.
  11. Hang on, you're saying Wednesday is a must win game (which it is) and yet at the same time you're saying we're pretty much out of it?
  12. Didn't think it'd take long for people to be calling for the sack. Also, how does this affect the SF?
  13. This is nothing like Stoke. The only things that are similar to the stoke game is the actual result and the fans getting on the backs of the players.
  14. I think you'll find the performance was very very embarressing too. It was hardly an embarrassing performance. We drew ffs not lost. Are you embarrassed to talk about the match to anybody because it was so embarrassing? I agree. Now if we'd been ahead for most of the game and only drew because we let in a late goal then I'd be embarrassed. What I'm saying is that if the roles had been swapped round today I'd be pretty pissed off right now. Fact is we fought back from 2-1 down and managed to salvage a point from a hardworking Wolves side. Not really good enough though, is it? You may be happy to settle for average performances like today, but its not going to get us into the top four anytime soon. No, it's not good enough, but it's not like Spurs, Liverpool or City are always "good enough" either. I'm not happy to settle for the performance but I am happy to settle for what we got consider how we almost lost it.

  16. If the players aren't as defeatist as some of the posters on here and Gabby is fit again we should be able to win this. Same squad as today with Gabby in for Heskey (if he's fit) and L Young in for Collins, with Cuellar being shifted into the centre.
  17. I don't really expect a team that loses to Hull to get 4th, or a team that loses to Pompey and Wigan either.
  18. 100% yes. Heskey at his best is Carew having an average game. Carew doesn't have average games. He's either woefully poor (lazy) or excellent. Recently we've been seeing his excellent side.
  19. Over the past few games I think it's been made pretty clear that Heskey is the one who should go this summer and not Carew.
  20. Yes, we should be happy to be drawing against relegation threatened teams (in their first season in the prem and with a fraction of the budget that we have) at home. Given what happened in the game and how close we came to losing, a point isn't bad.
  21. Wow, by looking at most of the comments in here you'd think we lost. I'm quite glad we got what we did considering we could have had a demoralising defeat on our hands. If results go our way today and we beat Sunderland in the mid-week fixture then it's not all that bad. We're level on points with Man City, 1 point behind Liverpool with a game in hand (soon to be 2) and 2 points behind Spurs.
  22. I can see us scoring again at least once and I don't think Wolves will score again. They're gonna sit back and defend for the rest of the game.
