Am I the only one here who thinks that if we were at home we probably wouldn't win this?

I think Friedel's got another season left in him. He's still a very good keeper and he's quite reliable.

I thought we were completely out of it? We should win this, hopefully by a few goals. Portsmouth are riddled with injuries and now that they're definitely relegated I doubt they'll put much effort into the league as they'll be saving it for the FA cup.

On another note, I've been watching Petrov a bit more lately and I've just started to notice how good a player he really is. Don't know why he gets so much flak from other Villa fans.

God knows how bad it would've been if we'd lost. you talk about mon cant win? we lose and you moan that people criticise, but if we get a jammy draw via a last minute own goal we are supposed to applaud politely after another second half pasting? we were at home against a team below us in the league you know... But we didn't lose today, and when we do lose I don't moan if people's criticisms are fair instead of knee-jerk calls for MON's head. Same with the draws. There are some valid criticisms but as usual (typical predictable VT) certain people are going OTT. We were hardly pasted in the second half. Are people actually watching us in the second half now or just jumping on the bandwagon of saying we tire early?

Never a truer word said. no, but he can avoid defeat - and that, apparently, is good enough for some... It's better than a loss against a very good team. And yes, he can win, try Bolton less than two weeks ago for starters. What is with all these fickle "fans" getting on his back every time we don't win?

Funny that I heard O'Neill say that against Wolves and the game before it.. But this was a deserved point. I seriously hope the away support on Sunday aren't as miserable as this.

When MON does his usual and brings on Heskey for Carew people always moan (understandably). This time, MON brought on the Fonz for a defender when we were trailing the game and what do people do? Still moan. The guy can't win.

Oh look, MORE negativity. I thought we played pretty well. Fair result.

I think we'll pull one back early in the second half and both teams will be battling it out to grab the winner after that.

This is bold I know, but I've just got a feeling 3-0 to us. Carew to score two and Gabby to get the third.

If we win this we can start looking over our shoulder at Liverpool and looking up at Spurs and City.

Do people still believe the wars are about oil? Afghanistan doesn't even have any oil.

The only thing I can think of off the top my head that Labour have done over the last 13 years that I have agreed with are the wars.

Just had a quick read through of the Labour manifesto and it's typical big government bullshit.

A Labour government would never cut the NHS budget. It annoys me how they're cutting money from pretty much all departments (after denying there would be cuts previously) except the NHS and I think education, which they've ring-fenced. The worst thing though is that they're actually increasing the foreign aid budget.

I would love for this to be true, but I just don't think it is. Unfortunately the Tories of late have moved towards the center and are somewhat spineless and don't want to make any big decisions. How anybody can think Labour are better for the majority is beyond me. Firstly, they're intent on keeping the flawed welfare system running and they're so obsessed with "equality" that they discriminate against the majority in favour of the minority.

They are just appealing to their core voters, everyone knows that Call Me Dave's airbrushed face wouldn't get them into power alone. They are and always will be the Nasty Party. And Labour aren't? This whole "nasty party" thing just doesn't make sense to me. Since when is being tough "nasty"? I'm sorry but spending "nice" just doesn't get the country anywhere except in a huge pile of debt.

I'd say that first goal was quite lucky. Their second goal came as a result of us pushing for an equaliser and the third goal was probably because we knew we'd lost the game by then.

Good job latching onto the "Villa tire after 60 minutes every game" bandwagon.

I think the moaners will be held off until the next time we don't win if we beat Everton. However, if we draw (which wont be too bad and will still keep us in the race for 4th) they'll be back. I was talking to my step dad about this last night and I think being out of the cups MAY somewhat help our bid for 4th. After last weekend's results we are still well in with a chance and being out of all the cups now we know what our target is - finish 4th or at least win as many games as possible. It's just a theory, but either way I don't think our confidence will be shattered as some on here are stipulating.
