  1. Which other PL club has it's management directly interacting with the fans/supporters and make the effort to keep them placated? None , to the best of my knowledge. As far as I am concerned , I think the situation was handled perfectly well and in a professional manner, as it should have been. Why should the media be fed every scrap of information regarding the inside working mechanism of finding a manager , the criteria for selection , experience etc etc? Overall , Randy and his team are sound businessmen and they know that is not how you conduct your affairs , in public through the press. I partly agree the situation could have been handled in a slightly better manner in terms of the communication from General Krulak , but you cannot blame him for being frustrated , seeing as how some supporters have forgotten the fact that MON was the one to walk out 5 days before the season commenced and it was an 'emergency' situation for the club , if you will and they are doing their best under the circumstances. We should appreciate the fact that Mr. Lerner has made an effort to make a direct line of communication with the fans , which cannot be said about other clubs. They have made mistakes , yes , but remember this was a contingency of sorts , it was but obvious they were not going to flawless in their handling of things. And some of the posts about Gen. Krulak and RL have been plain disrespectful , over the top and wildly accusatory in nature in my humble opinion. We can still make our points effectively in a respectful but straightforward manner without resorting to cheap shots and petty jibes at the management team. Don't intend to come across as patronising , apologies if it sounded that way.
  2. Technically yes , as sports drinks rehydrate and replace electrolytes. But water can do that job pretty well as you don't really lose salt/electrolytes with alcohol. You just need to replace the water and slow down the rate of absorption of the alcohol.
  3. Nah , he probably had the caffeinated , red bull clone version. You don't mix sports re-hydration drinks with alcohol
  4. Who are the 'others' that you refer to? From the best of my knowledge , Bob Bradley , Gareth Southgate , Alan Curbishley, Jurgen Klinsmann and Roberto Donadel(self declared interest) were the only ones linked with Villa by the media. There was some speculation about McLeish , that's about it. Don't think any of em would have been better than GH.
  5. Nothing has been confirmed yet , it's the media jumping the gun. From what I can gather , he is still considering it and might still reject it. I won't believe it till it's official.
  6. I see 'Houllier to be appointed in 48' hours in several articles but what is the original source?
  7. Dawson is not a world beater by any means but you cannot say he is shite. He is an average defender who can do a fair job in a decent side with a not so great defence , that's about it. Nothing more, nothing less. World class or anything even remotely close to it , he is not.
  8. Well done , you are probably only the second person on this board to know that 8) Very perceptive
  9. How does the Sine function in exponential form indicate the probability of Jol as manager?. From my calculations by applying the Runge Kutta numerical method , I deduce Manuel Pellegrini to be named on the 10th of September.
  10. You must be seriously deluded to think our fans/other fans have it for Harry because of his appearance. I have read the last few pages and other than posters making comments about his 'quirky' appearance in jest , I did not see anything particularly inflammatory. What I did see was you getting all riled up and defensive over a non issue. Give it a **** rest.
  11. Google doesn't 'say' anything, it only points. Why do you keep bringing up the non issue of his twitching when it means sweet fuckall to the subject at hand , i.e, Harry's dodgy dealings and wheelings.
  12. Would have been even more 'scintillating' and 'spectacular' had we realised we had a midfield after all.
  13. The **** he is. His domestic record reads worse than Iain Dowie.
  14. ye . very entertaining long ball football. The creme de la creme of English football.
  15. I am not sure this director of football thing will work here. I would love Houllier , but ONLY as MANAGER , not some figurehead type role where KM decides the tactics and the footballing philosophy. There will be too much overlap for it to work and neither KM or Houllier will be able to impose their philosophy on the team. The end result could be a right mess. I am fervently hoping that Houllier is appointed as the manager without the DOF shenanigans. His last few years at the technical helm of French football will have given him sound knowledge about local players and academies and a few signings could raise the technical level of the team , making long ball football (MONs signature) redundant.
  16. And if Bayern had really come in for VDV , do you actually think he would have chosen Spuds over Bayern Munich? Face it , you got him because none of the big guys wanted him. He is a good player but I don't even think he is the best attacking mid in your squad.
  17. A typical mixture of lies, vast distortion and just plain old ignorance. 1) There are 17 other clubs in the Prem besides Spurs - I post on here and RedCafe: two forums out of 17. So much for "omni-present" 2) I have never claimed that any Spurs player is world-class, with the arguable exception of King and now VdV. 3) I have never said that Spurs "will smash their way through every competition they are in". For example, in relation to finishing 4th last season and making through the group stages of the CL this season, I have merely said we stood/stand a decent chance - which we did/do. The problem with most of the critcisms on here is that they are just so weak: often not based on facts, badly argued, often based on nothing more than wishful thinking and sometimes with a good dose of bitterness thrown in. They often betray an amazing ignorance of various players: your calling VdV "over-rated" is a case in point. Ok Mr. Literal , you did not say those things. :| The criticisms are perfect valid imo , especially regarding VDV's signing. He is not capable of playing as a CM in this league , the only place he CAN effectively play is as an attacking central playmaker, which coincidentally happens to be Luka Modric's favoured and best position. You have two options. a)Play VDV in center and shift Modric back to the left , rendering him ineffective. b)Play both of them together in midfield with a DM behind them(Very weak, will be annihilated in the PL) Bale at LB is error prone , as has been seen from his performances in that position. You are just speculating that he will be good enough or that position if played regularly there by Harry. As of now , he is disastrous in that position and that is how I will continue to see him unless he proves me wrong. So you have a lightweight first 11 that should get hammered against the top teams , especially in the PL. In Europe , you might get away with it because it is less physical but the PL will punish you.
  18. What the **** did he say when he signed Cheyrou? The next Zidane
  19. They would need to move Modric to the left , where is not even half as effective as he is in the center.
  20. No point talking 'sense' with this guy , every player they sign is **** world class and they will smash their way through every competition they are in. Glaston has a life mission of going into other club forums and generally bigging spurs up , shooting down anything which remotely resembles a critical opinion. And it's not just VT ,he is omnipresent. Van der vaart is overrated , the real big boys did not want him so he went to Spurs. Another attacking midfielder in there. What amazing balance in the squad , I love it.
